Am I loud and clear, or am I breaking up?
Am I still your charm, or am I just bad luck?
Are we getting closer, or are we just getting more lost?
I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words
We live on front porches and swing life away
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand
I've been here so long, I think that it's time to move
The winters so cold, summers over too soon
Let's pack our bags and settle down where palm trees grow
I've got some friends, some that I hardly know
But we've had some times, I wouldn't trade for the world
We chase these days down with talks of the places that we will go
Get a taxi to Hazardous

sometimes the wind
rocks the swing outback
and I remember
all those times we sat
together in the summer days

At high tide, this swing would be over or very close to the waterline. It's always a great sight to see along the coastlines.
something different for me.

This is an American Avocet, a wading bird that swings its beak back and forth just under the surface. This is their coppery breeding plumage. In the winter, they're just black and white. American Avocet Chicks leave the nest within 24 hours of hatching, which amazes me.

Did you know in the ancient past many countries used swings in ritualized ceremonies for religious, and magical rites? I don’t think my hedgehog is using his that way - he looks like he’s just having fun!

flipped image of concrete stairs at a construction site in contrasty light. like the ambiguity found at times in Monk's music, there's also some ambiguity here between "figure" and "ground" in this image.
This American Avocet crouched down and swung its beak back and forth just under the surface of the water, stirring up morsels to eat.
Good Morning Flickr Friends, here is my first image from my new home and land. After unpacking and setting up home, I managed to get out on my golf buggy and go inspect the land I have just bought. My husband and Son put up a new swing on an old oak tree in our woodland. I found the most delightful apple tree at the foot of my woodland, with a flourish of glorious red apples ripe for picking in November. Apple Pie is on the menu today. So I took a beautiful image of the new swing and juicy red apple to welcome you to the Adventures of 'Long Acre Manor'. This morning I awoke to an owl hooting and have fed the hedgehogs and I saw a quick but fleeting glimpse of Muntjack deer grazing.... Happy Friday ~ KissThePixel2018
