Airborne forces show Swift Response
British airborne forces are training alongside NATO counterparts to develop their ability to work together to deliver a Swift Response to international crises.
16 Air Assault Brigade is on Exercise Swift Response, which brings together more than 5,000 personnel from 10 nations and takes place in Poland and Germany between May 27-June 26, 2016.
Under the command of Headquarters 16 Air Assault Brigade some 2,000 troops are taking part, the largest British contingent to deploy on a NATO exercise in 2016. The joint force includes 3 PARA Battlegroup, including engineer, artillery, logistics, signals, medical, provost and ISTAR support; Apache attack helicopters from 4 Regiment Army Air Corps; and RAF Chinook and Puma support helicopters and C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
The training involves mass parachute jumps and air assault operations as part of a simulated mission to restore stability to a troubled region. It is key to developing interoperability with 82nd Airborne Division and 11e Brigade Parachutiste, the Brigade’s key partners in the US and French armies respectively, as well as wider allies.

I caught this seascape with my 28-300mm lens, balancing my arms on a rail to steady myself enough to engage the lens' Vibration Reduction (VR).

Paratroopers and Allies forces processes more than 100 local nationals during a noncombatant evacuation operation as part of Swift Response 16 training exercise at the Hohenfels, Germany, June 17, 2016. .
The Paratroopers are assigned to 127th Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. Exercise Swift Response is one of the premier military crisis response training events for multi-national airborne forces in the world. The exercise is designed to enhance the readiness of the combat core of the U.S. Global Response Force – currently the 82nd Airborne Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team – to conduct rapid-response, joint-forcible entry and follow-on operations alongside Allied high-readiness forces in Europe. Swift Response 16 includes more than 5,000 Soldiers and Airmen from Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the United States and takes place in Poland and Germany, May 27-June 26, 2016. Things like Time, Location, Activeness as well as Global and Local interaction, are all considered in scoring. Time (green) and Location (dark grey) are optional, for scenarios like a conflict or war. The content producer’s location, or proximity to ‘ground zero’ tells the system to factor this in to its score. Also the length of time that content is produced after the initial event may also tell us a lot. Things like ‘time’ and ‘location’ are optional because if your Swift instance is tracking something like a political scandal, time and proximity may not actually add any value to authority calculations.
Purple represents how active Users 1 and 2 are. In and of itself how much someone uses a Swift instance is irrelevants. It could mean that they are an eager member providing valuable assistance, or it could mean they are attempting a brute force attack on the system similar to the Figure 1 scenario. However, when coupled with other factors, frequency of interaction is considered and can positively or negatively weight the score for a user.
Taylor Swift Measurements become more apparent during hot summer days, when she wears shorts and t-shirts, sometimes with jeans jacket, sometimes without it.
Low end Swift 10x50. Fairly poor performance. BK7 prisms. Image is fairly poor centre field and degrades quickly from about 50% field of view. Could be a poor example, some are supposed to be reasonable.

There is another Swift model also called the Ranger S.P and looks somewhat like my Audubon HR5's.
This other model is supposedly superior to this model above.

Victoria Wallace, left, of Brigade Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Infantry Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division and a Spanish soldier of the Airborne Brigade discuss a location on a map while working in a tactical operations center during exercise Swift Response 15 at the U.S. Army’s Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany, Aug. 27, 2015. The purpose of the exercise is to conduct joint and combined training events in order to evaluate brigade and battalion level execution of strategic out-load in conjunction with Allied Partner nations through an intermediate staging base. Swift Response 15 is the U.S. Army’s largest combined airborne training event in Europe since the end of the Cold War. More than 4,800 service members from 11 NATO nations- including Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States- will take part in the exercise on training areas in Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, and Romania, Aug. 17- Sept. 13, 2015. Red Deer Stags,
Richmond Park,
Richmond upon Thames.
Red Deer stags will sometimes leave the bachelor group briefly to shed their antlers and, when they return antlerless, they often find themselves at a lower position in the hierarchy. Even though the hierarchy starts to re-establish once all the antlers have been cast, the linearity of the hierarchy is disrupted until the antlers have been cleaned. While the antlers are growing (and are thus in velvet), disputes are settled by rising up on hind legs and kicking out with forefeet – this is referred to as “boxing”.

Having previously produced a Maltese-style Swift in Blackpool livery, I though I'd follow it up with a London-style version in the plain overall cream livery applied to Blackpool's own Mashall-bodied Swifts. I quite like cream-based liveries but this is perhaps just a little too stark (12-Nov-11)

At Pike Place Market: 'The Swift is the perfect Market bag. It looked so stylish, yet allowed me to carry many smaller purchases and items without feeling like a bag lady. In fact, the only thing that went into the shop bag was our pastries from Pirosky’s."

Lake Windermere ‘MV Swift’ in the dry dock, Lakeside. Wednesday 24 April 1985.
During the 1960’s and 1970’s I remember four British Railways ships operating on Lake Windermere these being Tern (ii) (b.1891); Swift (b.1900); Teal (b.1936) and Swan (ii) (b.1938).
Unfortunately MV Swift (above) which was converted to diesel power in 1957 was withdrawn in 1981 and scrapped in 1998, the other three ships survive and are in regular use although now diesel powered.
I have no record of which ships I sailed on during the 1960’s or the 1970’s however I do know that I have sailed on the Swan and Tern.
