Like a parasol, this mushroom filters the sunlight and I love the way the gills are highlighted so I cranked the tripod all the way down to better catch it and the light in the leaves.

Hibbleton Gallery is pleased to present a new group art show entitled “Surfacing” featuring work of Jan Avendano, Andrew Bargeron, Alberto Cerriteno, Alex Chui, Andrew Council, Mar Hernandez, Talita Hoffmann, Jason Jones, Robbie Keast, Rey Ortega, Sarah Mc Neil, Alejandro Mesa, Guiseppe Calogero Modica, Sean Morris, Dan Rule, Karan Singh, Alexei Vella, and Ziebo.
The opening reception is Friday, November 14, from 7-11 pm.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
The concept for the “Surfacing” art show is to showcase underground visual artists from the flickr.com community. This massive online community has given a new generation of artists a wider audience to share their work. Hibbleton’s desire is to show what some of these “surfacing” artists are up to. The styles and media of these artists are as varied as their countries of origin: from Spain to Canada to the UK to the USA. The show runs through December 21st. I uploaded my first image on here on April 6, 2010. It seems so long ago. Here's my first image . I’ve seen so much, and done so much since then. I feel like, although I still have a lot to learn, I’ve learned so much about photography, and have grown so much as a photographer. And I have all of you guys to thank for that. :) You don’t know how many days I’ve wanted to call it quits, smash my camera, tears in my eyes, and just forget about it. But all your kind comments and tips have made this rough photography road much smoother for me. I don’t know what I’d do without you guys. Your comments, favorites, and even views have kept me going everyday. I hate that I had to quit my 365 project though, but maybe sometime next year I’ll start another one. I just needed to start taking photos for –myself-, not a project. You guys were still there for me after I quit it, and supported me. You have –no idea- how much it meant. How much it still means. I feel like I’ve grown to know you all, even if it’s a little bit. Even though I haven’t met most of you, I feel connected to you all. I’ve formed friendships with some of you, and it’s made me so happy to know something as simple as taking a picture of anything, can bring us together on common grounds. :) Corny, I know. Haha.
April 6. Wow. Less than a year even, and you guys have given me almost 102,000 total views. It blows my mind, and thank you for that. If I could give you all a giant hug, I would. So a cyber hug will have to do. ::INSERT GIANT ASS HUG HERE::

I’d love to say my resolution this year is to ‘lose weight’ or whatever. While I still would love to do that, I know I’ll never be happy with my wieght, so I suppose my resolution is to have a better self image. I’m tired of feeling down on myself, and it’s unhealthy. I’m tired of crying myself to sleep, I’m tired of being scared to look in a mirror. I’m tired of comparing myself to celebrities and models, only to . That’s not who I am. I am Sarah, and I need to start being comfortable with who I am, and what I look like. No more picking at my scabs/skin/acne. No more holding my fat belly, feeling sorry for myself. I’m going to learn to hold my head high this year, with a smile on my face. That is my resolution for this year. It’s a selfish one, but it’s something I need to do for –me-. I can’t help others, if I can’t even fucking help myself. I don’t know how far I’ll get with this resolution, but any progress I do make, will be a really big step in my life.
Sorry I poured my heart out to all you guys. Ha. But yeah. I’ll stop now, before you guys are like, “Man fuck this bitch”, if you haven’t thought it already. LOL. I hope you all have a wonderful new year, and a great 2011. Remember, do not drink and drive. It’s NOT worth the risk. (RIP Amanda)

This is a photo of the road surface of the A27 highway near where I live. I wanted to experiment with using the lights of passing cars to light up the road surface. I was happy with how the outer headlight of each car delineated the edge of the road.
My wife jogs north on Halstead in the mornings before work. She has been telling me for months, that the Glories have been in bloom. For one reason or another, the weekend mornings were busy and I couldn't get up there, until today. Enjoy!
