This drop of water seems to defy gravity as it sits upon the lupine leaf.

I am always in amazement of the water repellent properties of some leaves. Walking back home in the rain yesterday, I spotted this leaf with a nice row of droplets.

Taken the same day as my recent post, Stairway to Heaven, at the same place. Here I was about to walk down the steps, and someone was coming up with their dog on a leash. I clicked the shutter as the dog was just appearing.

A large family of Water Smartweed (Polygonum amphibium) basks in a calm shoreline, sending its pink spires skyward. As the scientific name suggests, it is one of few plants which has adapted to both land and water environments.

As I began to photograph this shell, the tide began to cover it. I love how the water formed around it's shape.

The waters of Moraine Lake seem like they have been poured straight from the heavens into the Valley of the Ten Peaks. The towering mountains encircle the deep blue surface of the lake in a formation so extraordinary, only Mother Nature could shape it.

Piles of boulders have been seemingly dropped by the hands of giants, forming miniature mountains near the lakeshore. Let yourself be drawn to the trails that wind amongst the rocks and travel beyond to alpine meadows and sparkling lakes.

Life lived amidst tension and busyness needs leisure. Leisure that recreates and renews. Leisure should be a time to think new thoughts, not ponder old ills.

Scratched glass of an aquarium with the sun shining through the surface with a sealion swimming towards it.

The sun is in the utmost effulgence but the surface turned toward it must be a mirror; the clearer and purer it is, the more light shall be reflected therein."

Fungal life is starting to stir out in the forest where the snow has finally melted away. This cute colorful scarlet cup likes cold soil conditions and kicks off the mushroom fruiting season here. Even though it appears to be growing right out of the dirt on the ground, it is actually anchored to and feeding off a decaying stick that's buried below the surface.

On our Sunday morning hike we always pass this lake. We often joke that it must be the most photografed lake in Denmark, because I take dozens of images every week. Today the suface was crystal clear, showing plants from beneath, and the reflections of the sky and clouds from above. Made the image seem a little abstract.

Morning mist, bubbles, and the reflection of trees on the lake water

The small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) is a colourful Eurasian butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. Adults feed on nectar and may hibernate over winter; in warmer climates they may have two broods in a season. While the dorsal surface of the wings is vividly marked, the ventral surface is drab, providing camouflage. Eggs are laid on the common nettle, on which the larvae feed. (Wikipedia)

As always I extend my sincere appreciation to all those who take the time to stop by and comment on my photos.

The smooth reflective surface of the Maroondah reservoir was broken a short time later with some light rain. But this was a beautiful view with the deep clouds and mist. Victoria
