The image resists sentimentality. Instead of celebrating autumn, it examines what remains — the imprint, the stain, the slow oxidation of form. The leaves are no longer symbols of season but artifacts of duration. Their textures echo the passage of years, where identity softens yet structure persists. The very small sea star--I'm not sure which species, maybe a Leptasterias species--has its oral side (typically underneath side) up.

This little Grebe surfaced with his prize, but immediately got a little tense when he saw me lying on the ground behind my camera. He put a couple more feet between us and proceeded to swallow his Oncorhynchus mykiss.

This was a short ways off the coast at Moss Landing. Hopefully going back next year to kayak in the bays.

Probably my favorite design for Febrovery this year. I love the silly ones very much but hard sci-fi also holds a place in my heart. And this reminds me of the minimal and functional design of lunar rovers. I also wanted to build something that fits with the new cool astronaut torsos from the Creator line. Apparently I own the only set with more than one of those wheel pieces in dark red (8416), so this is also a flex I guess.
Febrovery has been a blast this year. I've seen amazing mocs by amazing people, silly and cool. It inspires me to look differently at Lego parts and to build carefree and have some fun in scary times. So thanks for all the awesome rovers everyone :)

-Pues, por ejemplo, cada vez que me pongo los pantalones por la mañana y bajo la mano siempre pienso ¿funcionará la cremallera? Por supuesto, normalmente funciona. Pero lo que me preocupa es ¿por qué tengo que tener esos pensamientos? ¿Para qué me sirven? Es una pérdida de energía, una completa inutilidad.
-¿Por qué no vas a ver a un loquero?
-Lo que yo necesito es un loquero que no necesite un loquero y de ésos no hay muchos.
