Westham Island Herb Farm is a unique farm located in Ladner just 35 minutes from downtown Vancouver.

Visiting the tranquil country setting of Westham Island is like stepping back in time to quiet country roads and good neighbours. Hard to believe this is literally minutes from the hub-bub of the city.

Surrounding a number of rustic country buildings, the family's fields provide a wide variety of farm produce sold directly from our farm throughout the growing season.

The family are strong believers in supporting their community by promoting buying locally grown and produced products. ALL of their produce is grown by them or their neighbours in Delta soil or from other agricultural areas of British Columbia. They also sell locally made products and frequently host events which allow businesses to promote these great items.

British Columbia provides abundant, healthy and flavourful products that are harvested when they should be - when the nutrients and taste are at their peak! The items they offer are the result of the experience, hard-work and talent of members of our farming and craft community and I believe they should not go unnoticed! Stop in today, help support the locals and see what great things they have to offer!

Ransone's Drug building on the left, and Buchanan Theatre on the right. Black Widow was playing, and main street was pretty full with the parked cars of theater-goers.

"Buchanan is a town in Botetourt County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,196 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Roanoke metropolitan area. It was the western terminus of the James River and Kanawha Canal when construction on the canal ended.

Buchanan was incorporated in 1832. The town of Pattonsburg was founded on the opposite side of the James River (named for Colonel James Patton), and was connected to Buchanan via a bridge. An 1855 gazetteer described Buchanan and Pattonsburg together containing "3 or 4 churches, 1 bank, 1 printing office, and several tobacco factories and mills." Buchanan was named for Virginia colonist John Buchanan (died 1769), a soldier and landowner who built Fort Fauquier on the James River, just south of the town.

The Buchanan Historic District, Buchanan Theatre, Greyledge, Lauderdale, Looney Mill Creek Site, and Wilson Warehouse are listed on the National Register of Historic Places." (Wikipedia)

Quarter Finals Here we come! ✅

The historic Ransone's Drug building in downtown Buchanan, with soda fountain. I may have to follow back up with the current owners, and see if they'd turn the neon on for me to do a shot at dusk.

"Step back in time as you enter the historic Buchanan Fountain & Grill located within Ransone's Drug Store on Main Street in downtown Buchanan. An authentic 1950's era drugstore with original soda fountain the grill is still serving up burgers, hotdogs, blue plate specials, old fashioned shakes and ice cream.

Show your kids what used to exist before fast food. Enjoy sitting at the counter on original swiveling stools, or, in one of the original booths. If you love the nostalgic 1950's you will feel like you have stepped back in time in this one of a kind diner."

Even though the hair on top of my head grows thin, It doesn't mean I don't trust a true professional with my beard. I've had the honor of being lined up, faded, and trimmed at the Atwood Barbershop for the last 2 and 1/2 years.
