So this concludes my Elora photo walk series. Thank you so much for coming along on this journey with me. Sharing my adventures with you is half the fun. :) I'm so grateful for your presence and encouragement.
I really love this pitcher that I treated myself to, last Christmas. It was handmade by the very talented Heather Lake, of MadeMud Pottery Studio in Fort Langley, BC, Canada.

Kuranda Koala Gardens is a boutique wildlife attraction, located in the world famous Kuranda rainforest village. Situated in the Kuranda Heritage Markets, the wildlife park is home to an amazing array of Australian animals, including wallabies, wombats, quokkas, gliders and freshwater crocodiles. What we lack in size, we make up for in cuteness.
In fact, we are one of the few places where you can hold a Koala for a souvenir photo (extra cost, conditions apply and limited availability). As an alternative, singles and small groups can buy a Koala Patting Photo. For something different, you can have your photo taken with one of our large, friendly pythons (extra cost). Our souvenir wildlife photos are very popular.
The Aussie Bush Collection features a fascinating combination of marsupials and reptiles, all living in harmony together. See the Long-nosed Potoroos along with Bearded Dragons and Blue Tongue Lizards.
Kuranda Koala Gardens has the only nocturnal exhibit in our Tableland region, giving visitors the opportunity to see up close some night-loving marsupials like the Greater Bilby, Northern Bettong and the rare Mahogany Glider.
Kuranda Village is just 25km northwest of Cairns in Far North Queensland
some reflective distractions while out celebrating Small Business Saturday, shopping small and supporting local in Baker City, Oregon
One of the best ways to experience a community is by visiting the locally owned independent businesses that reflect the unique and local character of the community. This weekend was a great start to what is definitely a different Christmas season. With lots of COVID precautions in place it was great to see so many folks out spreading holiday cheer and supporting local this weekend for black Friday and Small Business Saturday in Downtown Baker City
The small towns of Baker County offer a cornucopia of local and independent small businesses, many featuring locally crafted products that are made in, and in some cases can only be found in Baker County.
Baker City's historic downtown is one of the largest intact turn of the 20th century historic districts in the American West with over 100 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. today the downtown has been lovingly restored and the historic district is now a thriving downtown home to numerous art galleries, restaurants, micro breweries and local independently owned shops, making it the perfect destination for celebrating the holidays and shopping small unique businesses.

Having checked the tide times, weather and sunrise trajectory, I had a specific shot in mind when I arrived at St Ives early in the morning.
But... as my Instagram story followers will know, I left a small but crucial bit of kit at home... my tripod connector plate! This meant that a slow shutter image of the waves swooshing around the old pier stumps was out!
As the sun rose, the horizon lit up in a warm glow. Instead of packing up and going home - I decided to embrace the blur with some ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) photography.
With a slow shutter speed of just under a second, I moved the camera during the exposure for this "arty" look. I made several attempts - selecting this one to process first as I liked how some of the buildings (possibly engine houses?) are just about visible on the horizon.

📍 Gyllyngvase, Falmouth 🌊☀️🌊
On Christmas Day morning, I got up early to wander my local beach (Gyllyngvase, Falmouth) with my camera. Here, I was handed my first Christmas gift - a stunning sunrise!
I shared the beach with a number of dog walkers and some absolute nutters going for the traditional Christmas morning swim. They'll vouch for the colour of the sky!
Before the sun came up, I spent a little time picking my composition. I used the jagged rocks as a foreground anchor. Pendnennis Point (with Pendennis Castle) and St Anthony Head (with St Anthony Lighthouse) in the distance was framed to give a sense of the location.
Having done my research, I knew that the tide was coming in. I set up the tripod and waited for the tide come in enough for the waves to wash around the rocks - just as the sun rose above the horizon. It all came together perfectly!

Inspired by a recent photo on Instagram by local photographer, Danny Armstrong (check him out @danny.armstrong2), I had to discover Trevaylor Woods (near Penzance) for myself!
With mist forecast overnight, I hoped for some to linger early in the morning - the sort of conditions Danny had. But it wasn't to be. I still enjoyed discovering a new location though - which I'll no doubt return to in the future.
This shot was composed with the path leading towards a patch of sunlit trees. I don't typically use paths in my scenes, preferring more of a natural look. But as this path is pretty subtle, I went with it. I liked how the path twists in the immediate foreground - framing the bottom of the shot with a swathe of ivy. I decided not to narrow the aperture or focus stack - leaving the immediate foreground out of focus.
