Virginia National Guard Soldiers provide support to a Vietnam Veterans Commemoration hosted by Congressman Bob Goodlatte Aug. 31, 2017, in Lexington, Virginia. Brig. Gen. Lapthe Flora, Virginia National Guard Assistant Adjutant General for Army Strategic Initiatives, provided remarks along with Goodlatte, Soldiers assigned to the Staunton-based 116th Infantry Brigade Combat team provided a color guard and other support, and the Troutville-based 29th Division Band played ceremonial music. Vivint supports Blackstone’s Veterans Initiative to hire 50,000 American veterans across its portfolio of companies over the next five years
PROVO, UT (February 10, 2015) –Vivint President Alex Dunn today signed a Statement of Support for the Department of Defense Office of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) at a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Utah, where he was joined by Tom Bullock, ESGR Chief of Employer Outreach. The signing of this pledge signals Vivint’s support of Blackstone’s Veterans Initiative to hire 50,000 American veterans across its portfolio of companies over the next five years. By signing the Statement of Support, Vivint pledges to:•Provide managers and supervisors the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve. •Appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans.•Continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families in peace, in crises and in war. •Fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).
In response to the recent earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan, Wall Space Gallery (of Seattle and Santa Barbara) is featuring Limited Edition Prints from select artists. These prints are limited to 10 only at this size, which is approximately 8" x 11". The work is donated by the artists, with proceeds going to Habitat For Humanity - Japan, and Direct Relief International. The project is called Life Support Japan.

Those pesky little Bleeders thought they could come down from Glasgow to entertain the Paisley fans as they supported the punk legend and ex Sex Pistols original bass player Glen Matlock. Well they did and they looked like they had a great time too boot…..
Jackson Harvey and Daniel McGuiga’s guitar and drum band went on stage just after 8pm dressed in bark capes with bleeding black and red eye makeup after Drummer Daniel told me their style of music was a mix of punk and country. Both members joked with themselves and the fans in between songs while Daniels guitar went throw a bass and guitar amp resulting in the lower strings sounding like a bass as he played single notes. And for a two peace band they had a full lively sound while mixing in samples from kids yelling to segments of music that had the crowds well entertained.
At one point in the show Jack ran off stage in the middle of one of their songs and straight into the toilet while still playing his guitar that had the audience laughing. Only for Daniel to say on his return, “I hope you washed your hands” that brought further laughter from the crowds. Drummer Daniel later told me Jack got a new wireless radio jack plug for his guitar and it was all spontaneous and good banter with the fans.
This once four piece band exited stage left around 8.40pm and in no way were intimidated by the fans or what was still to come and why everyone was at the Bungalow bar as they left with a smile on their faces and chuffed to have supported on of punks greats bands members…
A cracking night folks and all good fun and why people need to get out their and support their local venues and live music..

We celebrated Earth Day with a wonderful afternoon of art, music and talks about protecting our environment. Hundreds of activists, artists, environmentalists and youth gathered to pay tribute to Mother Earth at Tamalpais High School’s Student Center in Mill Valley on April 22, 2018. We started the day with the first public showing of our Art Float for Social Change -- a unique parade float created to inspire more people to participate in democracy. A large globe spun over a circle of hands and a carousel of art, pulled by a colorful dragon. Singers and speakers of all ages stood on the decorated stage to share their ideas for a better world. Many more painted original posters about the earth, which were featured on the float carousel.
Dozens of environmental partners showed participants how we can all take action to reverse global warming -- organizations like the Sierra Club, Resilient Neighborhoods and 350 Marin, to name but a few. Our guest speakers were Mark Squire from Good Earth, Crystal Chissel from Project Drawdown, Marin Supervisor Damon Connolly and young local activists: they gave informative talks on a wide range of solutions to curb climate change. Participants also learned to plant a veggie garden, ride an electric bike, while others registered to vote.
We ended the day with music performances by the charming Twinkling Stars of Singers Marin, young singer Emma Spike, and sing-alongs led by Reed Fromer with the Freedom Singers and Redwoods Seniors for Peace.
Earth Day 2008 brought together diverse groups of people who might not have connected otherwise: activists, artists, environmentalists, makers, children, teenagers, teachers and parents. We are particularly grateful to all the young people who participated in our celebration.
This community gathering was produced by Democracy Cafe, Eco Warriors of MVCAN and Tam Makers, with the gracious support of Tamalpais High School, Mill Valley Community Action Network, Good Earth, Driver’s Market, Sloat Garden Supply and all our partners.
Thanks to event organizers Fabrice Florin, Jennifer Tomkins, Carol Korenbrot, Geo Monley, Grace Severtson -- and all the wonderful volunteers who helped produce this inspiring event. We think making art, playing music and talking with people of all ages and backgrounds can build mutual understanding and engage us to take meaningful political action together.

Ten Soldiers with the Minnesota Army National Guard’s Company B, 2-211th General Support Aviation Battalion, were honored at the Army Aviation Support Facility No. 2 in Grand Island, March 27, 2019, by Maj. Gen. Daryl Bohac, Nebraska adjutant general, for providing support to the Nebraska National Guard following historic flooding across the state. As part of an emergency management assistance compact, the Minnesota crew provided a CH-47 Chinook and maintenance support for the Nebraska National Guard’s Chinook helicopters. The Minnesota crew also provided aerial support with members of the Nebraska National Guard for the second Operation Prairie Hay Drop, March 23, 2019, dropping 12 round hay bales from their Chinook to aid cattle isolated by flood waters near Columbus, Nebraska. On June 2, the first ever national VA 2K Walk was held to benefit homeless Veterans and encourage employees to join in on the walk. From New York to California, a total of 155 VA sites participated in the walk. In addition to Walk and Roll event, more than 16,500 employees, Veterans, and community members donated almost 26,000 items for homeless Vets.
A magical theatre event to support The GEM Theatre - Celebrating 18 years of One More Productions with a Dia de los Muertos themed event to remember. This special evening includes a Silent Auction, a delicious five course meal plus, a private concert by GEM Theatre superstars.

Vacc Camp 2012 Day 1 - Carnival
Each spring in Miami - Florida, Miami Children's Hospital hosts a free week-long overnight camp for ventilation assisted children (children needing a tracheostomy ventilator, C-PAP, BiPAP, or oxygen to support breathing) and their families. Overnight campers come from throughout the United States and internationally. South Florida families and youngsters from local residential care facilities join in as day campers.
