A neighbor recently gave birth, so I brought her dinner and wanted to include something sweet. I devoured these homemade chocolate chip lactation cookies after I had my son, so they were a perfect fit. They're just regular chocolate chip cookies made a bit more nutritious with whole wheat flour, flax seed, nutritional yeast, dark chocolate, and walnuts. They're supposed to aid in milk supply for breastfeeding (which didn't stop my family from devouring them too!).

Oxfam support: Oxfam working with CEFORD (Community Empowerment for Rural Development) is providing short term employment in form of cash for work to SSD refugees and host communities to carry on a number of activities including digging access roads.

Story

Joseph is currently working with Oxfam partner CEFORD in simbili settlement as a translator and a site supervisor for the ongoing cash for work programme.

He came to Uganda with his two wives and 10 of his children. The last of his children was with the grandmother in a different location at the time the fighting broke out. He heard that they ran to Ethiopia

Having work to do according to Joseph has kept him busy away from thinking so much about the situation. He is also earning some money that has helped him put up two separate houses for his two wives.

His attachment is on a purple floral piece of bed sheet known as Melaya which he managed to carry with him at the time of fleeing.

“I love it because it was very light to carry and it kept us warm along the way to Uganda.” Joseph

There are special areas for some people in Perth Prison to relax and talk to staff members to help their wellbeing.

Health and wellbeing support is important in preparing people for when they leave to help them integrate back into communities.

Work is done on building self-esteem and healing self-image. Where possible, lessons are delivered by peers within the prison.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola in Kyiv. They discussed the situation at the front, defense support, plans of the Russian occupiers, Ukraine's European integration and the Global Peace Summit. The leaders made this announcement during a joint press conference.

The Head of State emphasized that now, 79 years after defeating Nazism, Europe has once again become a place of battle that decides the fate of many nations.

"And in this battle, life must prevail. Life must prevail over Russian FABs and KABs, Russian missiles, Russian assaults, and hatred that ruin the lives of millions of Ukrainians and see the lives of millions of Europeans as their target," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President thanked Roberta Metsola for her consistent support of Ukraine and presented her with the Order of Merit of the first class. He reminded that the President of the European Parliament was one of the first world leaders to visit Ukraine when the Russian occupiers were still on the outskirts of Kyiv.

The parties also discussed the preparation of the Global Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the Russian dictator is trying to disrupt the Summit.

"That is why we need a crystal clear position of every state, every leader, every international organization regarding participation in the Global Peace Summit and support of our common peacebuilding efforts," the President said.

The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine has fulfilled all the necessary conditions for the adoption of the negotiating framework and the start of negotiations on the accession of our country to the European Union in June.

Roberta Metsola noted that her visit demonstrates the unwavering support for Ukraine and its place in the European family, and called on Europeans to step up their assistance.

"I am optimistic about the negotiating framework being adopted by the EU member states in June. The European Parliament will help Ukraine to move along the European path in all possible ways and supports all 10 points of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. We hope that the Peace Summit in Switzerland will yield practical results," the President of the European Parliament summarized.

Just for fun, I've had some Rational Support Moo cards made up for the Rational Software Development Conference.

Unlike IBM Rational business cards, these are in VERY limited supply.

I and a few other Rational Support peeps will be handing them out. Be sure to look for us at the conference or at any of several impromptu tweetups there that are sure to occur.

National Guard Soldiers and Airmen from the D.C.-based 33rd Civil Support Team and the Fort Pickett-based 34th Civil Support Team trained together April 7, 2015, at the Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Training Site, Lorton, Va. The two-day exercise brought together the two teams as well as firefighters from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. Both units can identify chemical, biological, and radiological substances, assess current and projected consequences, advise an incident commander on response measures, and assist with requests for additional state support. The CSTs are federally resourced, trained and sustained and operates under the control of state leadership. The Adjutant General of each state or territory may employ the CST to support the state response under the direction of the governor or to support another state’s response under a supported governor. Piedras Blancas Light Station is located at Point Piedras Blancas, about 5.5 miles west by northwest of San Simeon, California. The first-order Fresnel lens at Piedras Blancas was first illuminated on February 15, 1875. The Piedras Blancas lighthouse was originally 100 feet high to the top of the ventilator ball. Earthquakes over the years damaged the structure. On December 31, 1948, final damage from an earthquake centered 6 miles off the point led to the decision to remove the upper three floors: the fourth landing, watch room, and lantern. Missing the beautiful ornate lantern, the truncated lighthouse now stands about 70 feet tall. The lens was moved and is on display in the nearby community of Cambria. The area is a Historic Park and Wildlife Refuge.
