Designer Tiana has been fully deboxed, and is posed standing, supported by the custom doll stand. Her skirt, freed from the factory restraints, is now wider than the doll stand, and is allowed to drape over the edges of the base. The triple layered petticoat helps keep the skirt full, but the back of the skirt still shows the creases from being folded during packaging.

First look at the Disney Princess Designer Collection Tiana Doll. She was released in October 2011, and I got her from eBay shortly afterwards, so It's been more than a year and a half since i got this doll. But I have not yet deboxed her, and this the first time I am doing a full photoshoot of her. I will photograph her boxed, during her deboxing, and fully deboxed.

My Designer Tiana doll is a limited edition doll produced and sold exclusively by the Disney Store, and is numbered 2503 of 4000. She is based on the title character from the Disney animated feature The Princess and the Frog (2009). She comes in an acrylic case with a built-in doll stand, with a base that has a golden filigree design, and a golden metallic nameplate. There is also a cardboard cover for the case that I have not photographed here.

She is 11 1/2'' tall, and has the same body as the other Designer Princess dolls, with jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips and knees (internal). She has rubber legs and fixed ankles, with feet angled for high heels.

She has jet black, medium length hair styled in a Snow White like bob, with a hair net over it to keep it in place. She has dark brown skin, and a unique face sculpt that is very pretty and movie accurate. She has small light brown eyes that are glancing towards her right. She has light violet eye shadow, and black eyebrows. She has rooted eyelashes, that are tapered in length from short to long, then at the ends there are very long curved antenna like lashes. She has a small round nose, full dark brown lips in with a closed mouth smile, and dimples in her cheeks. She is pale red rouge on her cheeks.

Her strapless gown is made of light blue-green (teal) satin. Over her bodice are two layers of satin leaf-like of the same color, the outer layer of which is decorated with many small green gems. She has a thin green beaded belt around her waist, with a large white cloth flower with a large green gem in its center. The upper layer of her bodice extends below her waist to form a short peplum (overskirt). Her skirt is floor length and is round and very wide, the full extent of which can be seen only when she is deboxed, and the packaging restraints removed. Under her skirt is a thin green under skirt, and under that is a triple layed tulle petticoat, that is not as stiff as the one on the LE 17'' Tiana doll. The gown is simple, but very elegant.

She is wearing light teal high heeled shoes, which match the color of her skirt.

Her accessories include gloves, flower hair pin, earrings and jeweled frog. Her gloves are 3/4 length stretch white gloves studded with small green gems. There is a large white cloth flower in her hair with a large green gem in the center, which is identical to the flower on the waist of her gown. Her earrings are studs with small round green gems. Finally she is holding a green frog in her left hand, who represents Prince Naveen in frog form. The frog has green jewels for eyes.

Emma Lenora Borden was born to Andrew & Sarah on March 1, 1851. She was 12 yrs old when her mother died, and in making a deathbed promise to her, promised to always watch over little Lizzie.

On the day of the murders Emma was 15 miles away in Fairhaven, MA visiting her friend Helen Brownell. It was here that she received the telegram from Dr. Bowen informing her of the killings and urging her back to Fall River.

Emma showed nothing but the strongest support for her sister during the trial and believed in Lizzie's innocence until the day of her death. She testified at Lizzie's inquest and was a star witness for the defense at the final trial in June 1893.

V.F.W Post 76, “The Oldest Post in Texas”

The house was completed in 1904 and sits on the banks of the San Antonio River

Corinthian columns support the Victorian-Style home that features a veranda, basement and attic, and at one time had 17 rooms, 5 fireplaces & two kitchens. There are stained glass windows on the main floor & front stair landing, also on the floor at the entrance is original as is all the wood trim, window trim & window. The second floor has a unique feature in the ladies bathroom. There’s a porcelain pedestal sink, cedar chest & porcelain floors.

V.F.W. Post 76 is not only unique by the house, but also by our charter, which was issued June 15, 1917. The organizers of V.F.W. Post 76 were veterans of the Spanish American War.

Although there are no surviving WWI veterans we can proudly say that we have veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Afghanistan & Iraq.

This was a special cookie, and I worked very hard to come up with a UNIQUE design for them. They were ordered by a wife for her husband who is finishing his third tour of duty in Iraq. This was for their anniversary. I didn't ask a lot of questions, but their "thing" is sheep. So this is my sheep with an army twist. Camo background, dog tags, and a heart from his wife.

I made an exception to my ABSOLUTELY NO SHIPPING rule. I packed them for her, and her best friend agreed to ship them. I am very glad it worked out so well. Now lets pray they make it to Iraq safely and in a timely manner!

In recognition of their recent success and to support their promotion to the national league, Ganesh Velautham has donated new sports shoes to the under-15 netball team at Vada Hindu Girls College in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. At Kopay Maha Vidyalaya school, after having won gold and silver (respectively) within the Northern Province division, the under-15 boy and girls team are preparing for their admission into national league. The Shivan Foundation is providing healthy food, nutrition and milk for all players as well as a collection of league-standard volleyballs to facilitate their practice sessions. Like many local school teams, both groups are heavily underfunded and their members often come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

After the crowning of King John Balliol, there followed a number of years of political and military tumult, during which the different factions fought each other when they weren’t busy fighting the English, and everyone tried to manipulate poor John Balliol for their own gain. Essentially, it was all about the different factions fighting for their own gain. It was largely not about nationalism, and therefore to side with England when it suited was considered to be quite justifiable.

Meanwhile English interests thrived in a country they had effectively divided and conquerored. It was only when William Wallace appeared on the scene that nationalism rose above self interest for a while, and the reason that Wallace eventually lost, was that generally throughout Scottish history, self interest has been more important to the (ruling class of) Scots than nationalism, and in this instance self interest eventually won out!

Following the death of Wallace and the irreconcilable differences that their support for an independant Scotland had placed between the Bruces and Comyns on the one hand, and Edward of England on the other, an uneasy truce emerged between the last two serious contenders for King John Balliol’s empty throne. Balliol had abdicated in 1296 and retired to his estates in France and it was clear he was not going to return.

On February 10th 1306, one of those single events that changes the course of history occurred at Dumfries in Galloway. Up until that point, it is reasonable to assume that the Comyns might eventually have become kings of Scotland, which would have changed the subsequent history of the British Isles. However, when Robert Bruce and John the ‘Red Comyn’ met at Dumfries to attempt to settle their differences, things went awry and Bruce, for reasons not fully known, stabbed Comyn, who died at the altar of the church in which they met.

Robert Bruce, whatever else he may have been, was a decisive man, and grabbing the initiative he had created (probably unintentionally), he promptly had himself crowned King of Scots. His next priority, before dealing with the English, was to remove any counterclaims from the likes of the Comyns, and while he had already removed the head of the family at Dumfries, John Earl of Buchan had just as much royal blood in him as his cousin the ‘Red Comyn’ had (or used to have!).

King Robert I invaded the North-east in late 1307 and in May 1308 The Bruce defeated John Comyn’s army near Old Meldrum in a decisive battle. Comyn fled to England, where he died later that year. Following the battle, Bruce subjected the earldom of Buchan to systematic devastation, in what has since been known as the “Harrying of Buchan”. It is probable that the Castle of King-Edward was destroyed as part of this process and was never rebuilt. Bruce's men proceeded to kill those loyal to the Comyns, destroying their homes, farms, crops and slaughtering their cattle. The lands of Buchan were subsequently granted by the king to those that had principally supported him, such as the Hays and the Keiths. Much of Badenoch, which had belonged to the Red Comyn, was given to a little known family from the Borders that had also supported Bruce, the Gordons!

So ended the power of a family, of whom, the Scottish historian Buchanan says in his History of Scotland, "the power of this family has never been equalled in Scotland, either before or since." John Comyn, Earl of Buchan’s heir was his niece Alice, who married Henry Beaumont, a Norman English nobleman, and his efforts to claim the earldom of Buchan in the name of his wife played a large part in bringing about the Second War of Scottish Independence 25 years later.

This weekend, the students of DePauw University will unite with a tremendous display of campus support for the 2005 Special Olympics Indiana Women's State Basketball Tournament. Thirty-eight Special Olympics Indiana basketball teams will compete Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13 in state championship competition at the University's Lilly Physical Education and Recreation Center. The event takes place, in part, thanks to the support of the Finish Line® Youth Foundation.

"DePauw basically adopts this event and does the nuts and bolts to make it happen," said Scott Mingle, assistant director of sports management for Special Olympics Indiana. "The students do so much, from getting tables and special olympics logo.gifchairs in place to providing volunteers to run registration and serve as court captains, timekeepers, scorers and announcers. They house Special Olympics athletes, throw parties for the teams, and ensure that the athletes experience this as a big-time tournament."

Thirty-eight teams consisting of 382 players will compete Saturday and Sunday at the annual state championship -- the world's largest Special Olympics women's basketball tournament. Athletes range in age from nine to 61.

Tournament competition includes rounds of play in 10 divisions organized by team ability level. Prior to competing in the state tournament, all teams completed a required minimum of eight weeks of training and played at least two games within the Special Olympics Indiana basketball program. All state tournament games will play on the courts of the main gymnasium at the Lilly Center.
