A support from a Laurel Line bridge that was recently uncovered when they were excavating for new buildings I think. Someone said it's over a hundred years old.

Verdi 15 Occupata.

"I awoke with devout thanksgiving for my friends."—Ralph Waldo Emerson
THANK YOU, John Curley and the San Francisco Chronicle, for printing some photos from my Then and Now series in this week's edition of the Chronicle's 96 Hours entertainment section. To see my family photos in the paper means the world to me and will thrill my family to no end.
Good weekends, my friends! I can't put into words what you mean to me.
PS. If you can identify the Bay Area landmark pictured here, don't tell! I'm going to run a few more photos of it before I describe it. And no, it isn't the Palace of Fine Arts. It isn't even located in the county of San Francisco.
March Past at Portsmouth’s Guildhall for Armed Forces Day. Picture: LA(Phot) Maxine Davies
More than 120 sailors paraded through Portsmouth today (June 27) as part of the Royal Navy’s contribution to Armed Forces Day.
The parade, organised by the City Council, was led by the Portsmouth Royal Marines Band and involved sailors from Portsmouth-based ships and shore establishments in the region.
Troops marched from St John’s Catholic Cathedral to the Guildhall Square via Edinburgh Road, Stanhope Road and Commercial Road.
Sailors from the Fareham training establishment HMS Collingwood formed the parade’s guard of honour and were joined by five platoons comprising personnel from the Naval Base, Fleet Diving Squadron, HMS Edinburgh, Defence College of Policing and Guarding plus medics based at Queen Alexandra Hospital. The Army and RAF were also represented.
In the Guildhall Square Second Sea Lord Vice Admiral David Steel took the salute and inspected the sailors with Portsmouth Naval Base Commander Commodore Jeremy Rigby.

Full flavoured and distinctive, which is what you'd expect from a single hop brew. Would I buy it again? probably not, when I want an ultra hoppy beer there are some others higher up on the list.

Design for Water is a special project that evolved from a workshop held at AKTO design and Art College in Thessaloniki, Greece on February 20th - 21st, 2013. The workshop titled "Social Design" was conducted by Michael Thompson otherwise called "Freestylee" and Maria Papaefstathiou. The purpose of this workshop is to help young designers channel their creativity into tools that can impact their community and the wider world in a positive direction. Also, to communicate on how to use poster designs as a vehicle for change. We choose the topic "The Clean Water Crisis" as a platform to build awareness around the subject and to support FACE Africa's effort in Liberia. FACE Africa is an organization working in Liberia to resolve the clean water crisis that is so prominent in that West African country.

LE Ursula is fully deboxed, and is posed in her box pose, supported by the included display stand. She is exactly 17'' tall on the stand, to the top of her hairdo, so should be a good match for the other dolls in the Limited Edition 17'' Doll series. To the top of her head, she is 15'', and from the bottom of her torso to the top of her head she is about 9''. These photos were taken with built-in camera flash, as there wasn't enough daylight.
Her arms rotate about her shoulders. Her head appears to be posable, but I couldn't turn her head using what I thought was a reasonable amount of force, and making sure that her necklace wasn't jammed into her neck joint. However, her golden necklace is freely movable, and is long enough to be lifted off her head if you wanted to remove it. Her tentacles are wired, so can hold various poses. I decided to leave them alone for now. The doll stand is made of two large black plastic discs, with a black metal rod between them. The top disc is inserted into a flat pocket of black satin at the base of her torso. The bottom disc serves as the base of the stand. She is fairly stable on the stand, but she is a bit wobbly on it, since there isn't a solid connection between her torso and the stand. Her skirt is three layers of shear black tulle, that is very flexible, but holds its shape fairly well, and does a good job of hiding the doll stand from view when she is on it. Ursula never wears a skirt in the movie (except in her human form Vanessa), so I prefer to think of it as representing a cloud of ink. But I do think she looks pretty good with the skirt, which completes her outfit and as well as hiding the doll stand.
First look at my Limited Edition Ursula 17'' Doll. I got her along with the Limited Edition Prince Eric, Ariel 17'' Dolls from my local Disney Store on the release day, October 1, 2013. They are all sold out online, and probably in stores, too. My store had 5 Eric dolls and only 4 Ursula dolls. Photographed boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed.

=============
I found the image intriguing but felt the caption needed improvement.
Effective Motivation is most successful when it conceals a veiled threat.
I was looking for "Bearing the crushing weight of the world on your shoulders and I feel flat, of Atlas", combined with the fear of "Work your knuckles to the bone or face the fear of falling, you depend on us more than we need you."
The title "Hang In There!" evokes a Scholastic® poster kitten.
"Team Support" is a theme more likely to blend in among true motivational posters.
Speaking of alternative ways to look at something, at first take the happy worker is supporting the the immense team standing in vapours. The caption reinforces the concept of the team is supporting the indivual worker.
Todays solution to most IT support questions likely to be encountered.
Do not try this at home, as it should only be performed under supervision.
If this doesn't solve the problem, try re-installing your operating system.
For 7DOS group.
Avoid high contrast situations if possible. The keyboard here is almost white, and the surrounds are dark from the tree shadows, so the exposure is heavily overexposed for te keyboard, making it a very poor shot.
Even the shadow on the face contributes to the problem.
This reminds me very much of how I felt about Windows Vista, which was the reason I changed to Apple MAc.

(#8/30) Laughter
This one is just too easy. I love to laugh, make people laugh, I love to joke, hear jokes, I even laugh sometimes just hearing people laugh, that contagious laughter, it's amazing. There is no feeling like it. Laughing is a great stress reliever, apparently increases pain tolerance, and support the immune system. So here's to having a laugh or two today ;)
Hmmm Flickr sure is doing some crazy sharpening!
Edit: I officially hate this photo now. :\
