Standard Drilling increases fleet to 10 PSVs
S.D. Standard Drilling has made plans to buy three large Norwegian-built platform supply vessels (PSVs) on a wholly owned basis, increasing its fleet to 10 PSVs.
The company informed on Thursday that, through wholly owned subsidiaries, it has agreed to acquire the three ST-216L CD PSVs Volstad Viking, Volstad Supplier and Volstad Princess from Volstad Shipping.
The vessels are large PSVs, all built at Aker Brattvaag, Norway in 2007-2008, with 1,060m2 deck space and equipped with ice class (ICE- 1B) capabilities. The vessels are to be acquired for a total en-bloc consideration of $40 million.
Following the acquisition, the company will control a fleet of 10 Norwegian built PSVs. To remind, earlier in January, Standard Drilling bought interest in two platform supply vessels.
Martin Nes, Chairman of the company, said: “The vessels grow our asset base and fleet significantly and are favorably priced at $13.3m per unit, representing a discount of 67% to $40.6m actual newbuild price and a discount of 47% to the 25-year current newbuild parity of a 9 year old vessel with an implied value of $25m.”
He also added: “The vessels have an impeccable operating track record and enable the company to enter the Norwegian market. With their ice class capabilities the vessels are also likely to be deployed for operations in harsh/sub-Arctic regions.”
Fletcher Shipping will act as technical and commercial manager for the vessels. The acquisition of the vessels is expected to be completed, subject to inspection, in February 2017. It will be financed through the company’s cash holding, the share contributions from the subsequent offers and (to the extent necessary) a credit facility.
In connection with the acquisition of the vessels, the company will enter into a six months revolving credit facility at market terms with Saga Tankers totaling $10 million in order to secure the company’s available liquidity reserves.

Tajuk best untuk breastfeed(bf) mommies, hehehe...
After 3 days I gave birth to Rafiqh, my breasts produced milk well. During the confinement, I had no problem at all, the breastmilk(bm) was more than enough, alhamdulillah... I think all mommies are same, masa ni susu melimpah2... After the confinement, I bought breastpump, kononnya nak pam bm dan buat stok, senang nak bawa keluar jalan2. Yer laa, mama Rafiqh ni banyak baju one-piece yang sangat susah nak selak kalau nak bf-ing kat luar. I used the pump only twice, hahaha. Why? Sebab sakit, lepas tu susu tak banyak pun keluar... After I asked mommies yang rajin pam2 ni, ooo baru laa tahu, memang sakit awal2 tu, kena pam selalu supaya breasts get use dengan pam, lama2 nanti ok laa. Tapi, sayangnya I dah malas nak teruskan. Lagi senang direct bf-ing jer. Kalau nak outing, bf-ing siap2, for 2-3hours, Rafiqh boleh tahan. Or else, nursing in car, easy! Even nursing cover pun tak ada, I use shawl with reben only... Then I bought tunic blouses banyak2...
Futhermore, bila I check for how long expressed breastmilk(ebm) boleh tahan selepas dipanaskan, only for few hours, hmmm, baik laa tak payah, I bukan ada cooler bag or ice-box yada2 yang lengkap untuk bawa ebm bila nak outing, pulak tu satu hal pulak nak panaskan bila baby nak minum, payah aih. Nanti end up dengan direct bf-ing jugak. So, I put back all the breastpump stuff in the box, simpan dalam almari, hihi... Guna next time laa, adik Rafiqh maybe?! Jangan rosak sudah. Karang membazir je beli ratus2. Tu laa, degil sangat, my mom dah kata jangan beli, gatal nak beli jugak, haa hambik kau!
Botol susu pulak ada banyak, I bought 2 only. Tapi dapat hadiah 4 lagi. Selama ni pakai 1 jer, untuk isi air zam2. I keluarkan dan guna 2, lain2 simpan!
Eh lari topik pulak, nak cerita pasal milk supply, melalut merata2 perginya...
Haa, lepas beberapa bulan, kegawatan susu pun dialami... Masa pregnant, pernah baca tentang milkmaid tea, teh yang boleh membantu meningkatkan penghasilan susu... Memang terfikir nak beli masa kat Malaysia tapi sebab susah nak jumpa kat Ipoh, tak beli... Disebabkan tak pernah pam betul2, tak tahu laa, berapa banyak susu terhasil dalam satu masa, tapi we can feel either we have the milk or not. We can feel breasts full or empty! Pernah jugak I rasa macam no milk, macam baby hisap kosong. Gelabah woo... Masa tu cepat2 cari petua, hehe.. Setakat ni, beberapa petua yang dah dicuba, I dah tahu apa nak buat kalau rasa susu kurang...
Ni cara I nak increase milk supply bila tiba2 rasa risau susu kurang:
- makan lobak putih, I makan mentah, buat salad, mix with apple and dressing
- minum susu soya
- masak bubur + halba
Ni pulak cara I maintain milk supply:
- minum air kosong banyak2
- supplement (multivitamin + calcium) intake
- minum susu
- makan makanan tenusu
- balance diet (orang kata makan buah+sayur banyak2, susu akan manis. Pernah rasa susu ibu? MANIS. Tak macam fm, yucks! Serius, I tak tipu, I pernah rasa. Patut laa Rafiqh refused air masak dll, pandai baby mama)
- enough rest
- no stress (erkk?! duduk rumah pun stress ker? eh, stress jugak laa, hahaha)
- mandi air suam
- massage breasts
- doa, minta dari Allah... Dia yang bagi kan? so minta laa dari-Nya. I minta sejak baby masih dalam rahim lagi...
Apapun, yang paling utama, baby kena kerap hisap supaya breasts stimulate susu dengan baik...
Sebenarnya banyak lagi cara yang boleh dipraktikkan untuk maintain/increase milk supply. Since I'm new-mommy, setakat tu je laa yang I dah buat. Untuk bf, even though it's human's natural process, still there is a price you need to pay. Kena ada usaha, kena ada iltizam, baru boleh berjaya, insyaAllah... Set your target and work hard for it, gambare
KAKEGAWA, Japan – Swirling sand obscures the sunlit sky as a UH-1 “Huey” helicopter touches down on a freshly cut baseball field. Mere moments pass before the Huey’s Japan Ground Self-Defense Force crew chief dismounts from his metallic steed and sprints toward four U.S. Army Soldiers bearing a stretcher. The crew chief’s commanding shout cuts through the roar of rotor blades, springing his American partners into action. With swift, expert precision, the stretcher bearers carry their wounded comrade—a mannequin sporting an Army Combat Uniform—to the Huey.
Casualty evacuation was one of the many training missions orchestrated during Shizuoka Prefecture’s annual Comprehensive Disaster Drill conducted here Sept. 4, 2016. The drill demonstrated the emergency response capabilities of a diverse collection of local, regional, national and international organizations. Its static displays, interactive classes and practical workshops conducted throughout Kakegawa also provided lifesaving lessons for the city’s citizens.
“The people of Shizuoka Prefecture have organized this annual exercise for 35 years,” said Yuka Ogura, a supervisor for the prefectural government’s Emergency Countermeasures Division. “Although the drill’s size and scope has become increasingly complex with the inclusion of specialized government agencies and advanced equipment, the individual residents play the most pivotal role in preparing for the worst.”
Among the participants stood a dozen Soldiers assigned to U.S. Army Japan, I Corps (Forward) and Public Health Command-Pacific. The group packed two Humvees with fuel, rations and medical supplies before embarking on their 120-mile journey from Camp Zama to Kakegawa.
“The U.S. Army has actively participated in this drill since 2010,” said Maj. Donald Kim, U.S. Army liaison officer for to the JGSDF's Eastern Army and Central Readiness Force. “It demonstrates our capabilities in humanitarian response assistance by testing our troops’ expertise in first aid, supply distribution, convoy operations and medical evacuation. Our participation also sends a strong message to our Japanese partners that we are willing and able to provide immediate support when disaster strikes.”
“Since the great east Japan earthquake and tsunami [in 2011], local communities have a greater understanding and openness to collaborate with international agencies in the aftermath of a major disaster,” added Ogura. “The U.S. Army has proved on many occasions that it has the talent and resources to respond to any emergency in the country.”
Throughout the exercise, the American Soldiers worked closely with their Japan Ground Self-Defense Force partners from the 34th Infantry Regiment, Eastern Army, JGSDF. The respective units set up their base of operations at a local gym where they combined resources to coordinate convoy routes, establish mobile communication sites, and set up supply distribution points.
“The JGSDF and U.S. Army have specialized equipment and highly trained personnel that many of our civilian counterparts cannot afford,” said JGSDF Sgt. 1st Class Miura Hatoshi, a squad leader in the 2nd Company, 34th Infantry Regiment. “However, these assets are practically worthless if we don’t properly use them. That’s why it’s essential that we seize every opportunity to train together so we may make the right decisions together.”
The drill concluded with a closing ceremony at a demolished neighborhood used as a training site for search, rescue and recovery operations. Standing alongside hundreds of service members, firefighters, police officers and first responders, Heita Kawakatsu, governor of Shizuoka Prefecture, expressed his appreciation for the American participants.
“The citizens of Shizuoka Prefecture and I are grateful for the support from the U.S. Army and Marines,” said Kawakatsu. “Your skill and professionalism were second only to your care and compassion.”
As the troops shook hands and exchanged small tokens of appreciation with their gracious hosts, Kim reflected on his team’s immense effort, energy and enthusiasm.
“I’m proud of these men,” said Kim. “Many of them have Military Occupation Specialties far separated from the desired skillsets for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions. However, their proficiency in their basic warrior tasks and their eagerness to learn from the experts shows our Japanese partners that they can count on us anytime, anywhere.”
