33 shokugan figures (toys inside boxed candy).
This display features a completed set of the mass-produced shokugan (tosys inside boxed candy) that were sold at convenience stores in Japan. Each box contains a small plastic version of one of Murakami's signature characters as well as an informational pamphlet and chewing gum. In addition to constitutiong Murakami's own version of the collectioble figures purchased and treated by otaku this valise (Box in a Valise), 1941, was for Marcel Duchamp - a group of miniature repreductions of artworks for circulation out in the world.
