My first visit to Japan was far too brief - just a week to explore Tokyo and Kyoto. And yet, it surpassed my expectations, demolished my preconceptions, and spoiled me with color and vibrancy.

High tide and low-to-no winds is probably my favourite sunset capturing environment by the water. The soft ripples in the water really make the reflection a little bit more magical.

Cloud formations can often be seen forming above the river during warm late afternoons as water evaporates above the river. With the sun setting behind the property, these cloud formations often reflect the colors of the sunset, becoming part of the ever-changing “landscape” visible from this majestic hillside location near the river.
I was shooting the sunset on the other side of the road outside Weston, OR when I glanced over my shoulder and saw it reflected in these storm clouds behind me. The sunset these clouds are reflecting is found in the image titled 1580_WestonSunset
