Sunset Reflection, View from Ala Moana Park, Oahu, Hawaii

My first visit to Japan was far too brief - just a week to explore Tokyo and Kyoto. And yet, it surpassed my expectations, demolished my preconceptions, and spoiled me with color and vibrancy.

High tide and low-to-no winds is probably my favourite sunset capturing environment by the water. The soft ripples in the water really make the reflection a little bit more magical.

Step into the timeless beauty of Beijing’s Summer Palace (颐和园), captured on a peaceful afternoon on May 4, 2021. ☀️ Nestled in the heart of ancient Chinese imperial charm, this serene waterway glistens under the setting sun, surrounded by lush greenery and traditional architecture. The soft ripples reflect the elegant stone paths and red lanterns, evoking the calm of a bygone era.

This scene, part of the Suzhou Street (苏州街) area, is renowned for its historically styled shops and tranquil canals — a favorite retreat for royalty during the Qing Dynasty. 🏯💧

The photo celebrates the harmony between nature and human craft, a signature feature of classical Chinese gardens. A perfect moment of stillness in one of Beijing’s most revered heritage sites. 🌳🇨🇳

A pink sunset is reflected in the Snake River near Stanley.

Cloud formations can often be seen forming above the river during warm late afternoons as water evaporates above the river. With the sun setting behind the property, these cloud formations often reflect the colors of the sunset, becoming part of the ever-changing “landscape” visible from this majestic hillside location near the river.

I was shooting the sunset on the other side of the road outside Weston, OR when I glanced over my shoulder and saw it reflected in these storm clouds behind me. The sunset these clouds are reflecting is found in the image titled 1580_WestonSunset

Dining al fresco with friends at Cafe Nola, I saw the dying sunset reflected in windows across the street.
