summer should bethe time when we can get as much sun as possible for the next gloomy months but seems not this year... good that there was some sun in the south .-)

Macro Mondays: All Natural.
My favorite favorite shore crab. the Purple Shore Crab (Hemigrapsus nudus), can be found under rocks in the intertidal zone from Alaska to Mexico. It's carapace can grow to 2 1/4 inches. This one was not full grown yet (Sunset Beach, BC).

At Sunset Beach in Cape May, NJ, you can see the remains of the S.S. Atlantus sticking out the Delaware Bay. The ship was one of a few experimental ships made of concrete that were built during World War I. It has been slowly receding into the bay since it snapped loose during a storm and ran aground in 1926. It has been receding into the bay ever since.

A Leather Star ( Dermasterias imbricata) on the shores of Sunset Beach, BC. When handled, it leaves behind the distinct smell of garlic on the hands.
Well it has been several weeks since I have been on Flickr, and have been missing it, but have been getting lots done in the meantime. Am just popping up for a bit of 'Flickr air' before I get back at my backlog of chores.

The cloud show this week on the beach was a real show! Each afternoon a chance of a thunderstorm rolled through. My MO was watch the sunrise...eat breakfast and take my beach chair to the beach and enjoy the view. ~
