Kirkjufell is a mountain 463-meters or 1519 feet above sea level on the Snæfellsnesnes peninsula in the Western part of Iceland. Standing tall above the small fishing town of Grundarfjörður, Kirkjufell is the most photographed mountain in Iceland, one of the top 10 most beautiful mountains in the world, and yet most recognized as being “Arrow Head Mountain” on Game of Thrones.

Eastern Screech-Owl hidden up at least 20-25 feet in a broken tree limb; the pines as you can see made it difficult to get a clear capture. We were so thankful to a birdwatcher that called us over to have a peek. Very exciting.

This link is from Cornell showing their camouflage abilities:

Captured with the 10 Stop ND. Went to ISO 200 here as did not want to have a 240 second exposure.

A slightly different composition than the previous image, taking in more of the cascades and edges of the stream. Taken from the side of the stream on the lower slopes of Grasmoor (which I believe is called Cinderdale Brook), and sits on the eastern shore of Crummock Water. Again, looking north over Crummock Water towards Loweswater. Fujifilm X-T30, Fujinon XF 10-24mm f4 R OIS - ISO160/f13/4.0secs

I take pictures of random stuff. Like the way the light at sunset streams through a glass of water. Maybe you do too, so we can be crazy together?

One from last night on the Cornish Coast. It was wet and windy when I left the house and the weather closed in as I went up to Lanyon Quoit. I got out of the car and took one shot in the grey light and very nearly drove back. However, I thought that with the bad weather I would drive down the very narrow lanes of the Cot Valley to Porth Nanven cove.

It was as I expected understandably quiet and this was the grey scene that greeted me. There was a lot more sand on the beach since I last visited a couple of years ago.

Anyway, things started to get better and better as sunset approached and I ended up having one of the best evenings out with the camera. I came away with lots of decent images. I will wait until I get back home before I edit them properly on my larger computer screen. I hope you will find them worth waiting for.

But for now here is Porth Nanven in Mono as a taster. It is a fabulous location for sunset, but a bit of a nightmare to get too if its busy!

The sunset streamed thru the window of the small house by the sea, illuminating Guzo's tired but peaceful face. An adventure that had been spent all day on the beach's warm sand, in the cool waters of the salty sea, and under the sun had now turned into a sweet fatigue. The steam from the shower filled the bathroom, and the smell of the sea and soap mixed together.

Guzo, looking at the damp underwear in his hand, saw the images of that day flash thru his mind. In the early morning, he was one of the first to set foot on the beach before anyone else was there. He thot of his walk against the enchanting scenery, the joyful laughter of children eager to swim, the young couples trying to build sandcastles, and the group of friends gathered around the campfire burning on the beach in the evening.

Today, he understood once again that life is full of simple but enjoyable moments. He put his underwear aside and walked toward the window. The last rays of the sun were dancing on the sea. It was as if it were saying to him, "I'm glad you lived today." Smiling, she etched the memories of this beautiful day into her mind and lay down in bed to prepare for tomorrow's new adventures.

I had a wonderful day yesterday setting up the exhibition with June, having a meeting on the common discussing Butterfly conservation, then my opening night of the exhibition . Setting up food and drink with all my lovely friends, especially Dot who is amazing. Over 50 people turned up and everyone was so kind it was a wonderful evening. I sold eight photos and two paintings and cards, so was really successful, June said it was the busiest it's ever been at the gallery for an opening night. It was so much fun, as everyone just surrounded me with love. I am so fortunate to have so many wonderful friends. Love me Tenderly is by The Felice Brothers.

Like this photograph, the exhibition was a long journey towards the light, after Maura left unexpectedly. I've really enjoyed the creative process. The hardest thing was choosing which photos to exhibit. This one didn't make it.

"Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice. "

Robert Frost's poem Fire and Ice

Yesterday I posted my shot for the group PCA's theme Fire and Ice. This was the other shot I was considering for that challenge. Straight out of the camera.

Dreaming of my mountains.

The Grandes Murailles is a mountain chain located in Aosta Valley between Valpelline and Valtournenche. Lies to the west of Cervinia.

From the left Cresta Albertini and Dent d’Herens , surrounded with clouds Punta Bianca, Punta Carrel and Punta Mara Cristina.

A beautiful sunset among the mountains of southeast Alaska. Yet the trace of glacier is frustrating, from glacier to waterfall to stream. It is unfortunate to see glacier keep shrinking over the years.

This is the stream that flows out of Weaver cave at dusk.
