Ahuriri River, South Island, New Zealand. Golden sunset bathes the riverbank in warm light, casting a gentle glow over clusters of blooming lupines.
They published the list of the world's most beautiful cities but since no one has been here they didn't know about us :) This stream that runs past the university is known for floods and the "beautiful" concrete is there for flood control.
Seen on the way to dinner at Carey's Bay. Fortunately we were allowed to stop and take a picture!

Since Painted Valley Farm resides in a valley in the Hocking Hills of Ohio, I had resigned myself to not even making an attempt at sunrise or sunset photos on my trip down there. Instead I was upstairs in my room at the bed & breakfast inn watching the deer, the turkey, and the wizardly tree out the window. Then suddenly I looked down to see the water glowing as the sun set out of sight behind the hills! It lasted only a few minutes.

This is different from the normal mountain-scape. Because of the shape of the cloud and the way the sun was hitting it, I decided not to include the entire mountain. I like the way it turned out.

Evening in the Italian Alps, where the last sunlight touches the snowy peaks above Cervinia. The trail winds down through quiet mountain villages, each one nestled among green slopes and flowering meadows. With every step, fatigue grows—but so does the beauty. A peaceful end to a long and rewarding day.
The sunset streaming across the ocean
The beautiful colors of orange and red
Is reminiscent of my devotion
And eagerness to stroll the road ahead
The glory seen in the view above me
Reminds me of the joy found in your heart

I've been really missing getting out to take landscape shots lately. I love doing macros and stuff but I get cabin fever if I don't go see some sights. Anyway, today I went out before dinner and took a few shots not too far from home. I really like these two for the warm light contrasting the cool, icy water.
