A serene body of water reflects the vibrant colors of the sunset, with hues of purple, pink, and orange lighting up the sky. Silhouettes of distant hills frame the horizon.
This shot was taken last October and it was taken hand held because I didn't have my tripod with me. I wanted this photo in particular to have as little post processing as possible, so all I did here was remove a dust spot with the cloning tool, resize the image and reduce some noise because I used ISO 200 for this shot.
There is a slight tilt on the horizon but I'm willing to live with it. So please don't post any notes about it.

[Skyscape's Halo P.1]
I shot this back in January 2020. I'm also new to Flickr and hope to be active on here - I've been practicing photography for just shy of 3 years but I have been set on doing it as my job in the near future. I'm also starting to sell my work on Etsy which I'll have a link in my bio to :)
Snowy Sunset at Lake James - FEEL FREE TO SHARE!

On the weekend of January 23, 2016, Burke County, NC witnessed some of the largest snow totals seen in recent history. Winter Storm Jonas dumped quite a lot of snow across the Eastern Seaboard, and North Carolina's mountains received an average of 12-16" in some places. Amidst all of the snow and grocery store chaos for the last loaf of bread and gallon of milk, a beautiful sunset was settling across the peaceful Lake James shoreline. It is always so lovely to see something so tranquil amidst the chaos of a snow storm, especially something this beautiful. Check out a photo from that snowy January evening as the sunset lit up the skies above beautiful Lake James.

More sun photographers and viewers walking the piers to get a closer or clearer look . We found ourselves standing back and using them in our photographs.
Another of my attempted sunset pictures at Sunset Beach in Marathon, Florida. My wife and I took several pictures on occasions and probably learned a little bit about sunset photos. It is amazing how being older gives you the ability to automatic DELETE after you learn something. At least on my computer you have to push a button.....with me...it is automatic.

EXPLORE #284
This was taken last December. The weather was great and so there was a great sunset. I have a different shot from the same sunset that I uploaded back in December. I used my Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS lens for this shot.

As I post this it is the last day of 2016. A new year dawn's tomorrow and I'll close out this year with a series of sunset images to represent the end of another year.
