I got up at 3:30 in the morning and still just made it to the parking lot at Sunrise Village. not bad for taking ten steps from the car, huh? :)
Happy Mother's Day to those of you celebrating. I do realize that today may be a painful day to some who may not have had a good relationship with their own mother or have lost their mothers or who are childless and sad or for a myriad of other reasons. I wish you all a day of love and peace.
PS - the light was so good today I didn't want to use my flash, maybe I'll try another day... :)
Sunrise
Should've covered up my eyes
Beauty wasted on me
Winds are shakin' my tree
With a woman too good, to believe
Take the first ride out that I see

Sunrise on the Mesquite Flat Dunes
Located in central Death Valley near Stovepipe Wells, although the highest dune rises only about 100 feet, the dunes actually cover a vast area.
Couldn't help noticing how nicely the color of Saturday's sunrise matched all the Halloween decorations.
So this was my first time down at Malibu Pier, I left at 4:30am to meet up with William McIntosh. Sunrise offered a very beautiful spectacle and the water was quite unruffled, but the motion communicated by the tides was so great that, although there was not a breath of air stirring, the sea heaved slowly with a grand and majestic motion. Perfect for a morning capture. :)

A Cracking sunrise on Sunday in more ways than one..
Whilst traveling to Zouch for sunrise a tog friend and I decided on a quick stop on the way at Sawley...this turned out to be a unfortunate decision...whilst on the way back to the car I slipped on ice and landed very heavily on my elbow...I was in extreme pain but decided on keeping on going to our chosen location...although I was happy to capture a beautiful sunrise I later learned I had carried on photographing with a fractured elbow.. lol..I'm not safe to go out with a camera...
On the way home from a sunrise photo, I found this gem on this side of the road being bathed in early morning light
over Brisbane city from Mt Coot-Tha. Such a thick blanket of fog obscuring almost the whole city. It'll burn off soon enough.
A sunrise from Huelin with the cranes of the port of Malaga in the background. I don't know if it's shutter smudges that appear in the upper part of the sky..., I've left it. I don't feel like cleaning anything today.

Sunrise with Uluru (aka Ayers Rock), Australia's incredible sandstone monolith in the red center of the continent. Thirty minutes before sunrise, the clouds were already showing off some color. It turned into stunning color about ten minutes before sunrise. I couldn't believe what we were witnessing on a family vacation (2019) at one of the world's natural wonders!
