The sunrise is defined as both the crossing (rising) of the horizon by the sun and the time of this event in the daily course of the sun as well as the celestial phenomenon in general with all its (also meteorological) phenomena.

Sunrise at Broga Hill. Hill tracking with VirtualMalaysia team. My first outing accompany by profesional photographer.

I got caught up in heavy traffic and a road accident on my trip out yesterday so sadly missed the sunrise in Kent that I was so hoping to see. This is one from the previous weekend in Norfolk. It will not be everyone's cup of tea because of the pylons but unfortunately that is where the sun came up and where I was at the time, so I had to make the best of it. I myself rather like the massive structure of the Pylon against the sun. These are the Whooper swans that are flying to their feeding grounds for the day. One of our winter visiting Swans.

This picture was taken in the half light of the early dawn. As well as the foreground you can just make out the sheer 'cauldron' of the Drakensbergs. Unfortunately there was a bush fire and consequently a lot of smoke so we never got a clear view. However, I think it added to the atmosphere of this very early morning shot.

A Cracking sunrise on Sunday in more ways than one..

Whilst traveling to Zouch for sunrise a tog friend and I decided on a quick stop on the way at Sawley...this turned out to be a unfortunate decision...whilst on the way back to the car I slipped on ice and landed very heavily on my elbow...I was in extreme pain but decided on keeping on going to our chosen location...although I was happy to capture a beautiful sunrise I later learned I had carried on photographing with a fractured elbow.. lol..I'm not safe to go out with a camera...

Image taken at sunrise on the beach at Caister-on-sea on the Norfolk coast showing a vibrant orange sunrise sky over the wind farm offshore and colour reflecting in the waves crashing round the rocks on the shoreline.

Sunrise long exposure image of Bass Rock from Yellowcraigs Beach, North Berwick, Scotland.

took this sunrise panoramic shot the other morning. had some good conditions for it and the water was like a mirror. got some great reflections off it.

I had this shot up earlier in the year and somehow deleted it. No need to comment or fav. I just wanted to get it back up on the site as part of my collection. :) Sunrise heights association sunrise.

A very, very early morning drive to this bluff in my hometown. I should have planned my composition the day before to save on the stress of running around looking for one but I don't mind this one. I wish the bench was facing the sunrise and I was sitting on it. In post processing I noticed a bird in the tree.

Sunrise on Jan. 1st, 2016

over Brisbane city from Mt Coot-Tha. Such a thick blanket of fog obscuring almost the whole city. It'll burn off soon enough.

Whilst walking the dogs early one morning I turned a corner and saw this hooded figure watching the sunrise. I only had my 30mm lens and time for a quick shot. Today being Sunday I sat down and played - HSS!

Capturing the sunrise from Umina Point at Umina Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

A sunrise from Huelin with the cranes of the port of Malaga in the background. I don't know if it's shutter smudges that appear in the upper part of the sky..., I've left it. I don't feel like cleaning anything today.

Sunrise with Uluru (aka Ayers Rock), Australia's incredible sandstone monolith in the red center of the continent. Thirty minutes before sunrise, the clouds were already showing off some color. It turned into stunning color about ten minutes before sunrise. I couldn't believe what we were witnessing on a family vacation (2019) at one of the world's natural wonders!

I couldn't tell you exactly why but this one is going in a very small pile of my images that I think are pretty good. Doesn't mean you have to feel the same way but I love it. This little shed is a fantastic location and I've shot it under many different conditions from 'holy crap' sunsets to incredible smoke skies due to massive bushfires and this foggy sunrise. It looks very rural but it's actually very close to housing estates, I can only hope it doesn't disappear in the name of progress..

Virginia - Flowers clamoring for the morning's first light.

The sunrise this morning was amazing. If very fleeting.

Sunrise @ Rye Beach

Stunning sunrise over the Norfolk coast Yarmouth Wednesday morning on the shortest day of the year solstice.

Sunrises are always unique and even when the sun doesn't make an appearance have their own charm. The wind didn't favor bird photography on the morning when this was taken while I was visited Jacksonville, but I thought the sunrise was beautiful and the simple composition appeals to me. Maybe it's the bird! Have a good day!

A picture I took of a beautiful sunrise at Maroon Lake near Aspen Colorado

Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia

Sunrise light on the Indian Peaks which form the Continental Divide, as seen from the flanks of Niwot Ridge. left to right, South and North Arapaho Peaks (13500 ft / 4115 m) bridging the Arapaho Glacier, Mount Albion (12,615 ft / 3845 m), Kiowa Peak (13,276 ft/ 4046 m), and Navajo Peak (13,409 ft/ 4087 m). The two valleys below the peaks are part of the City of Boulder's watershed, and are the headwaters of North Boulder Creek.

Another sunrise image taken at Chalky Beach, NSW; Australia a couple of weeks ago.

The rocks here are always showy enough; but couple that with a colorful sunrise and here's what you get......

Hope you like this!!
