Fernwood / Big Sur / Calif

The sun's rise through the redwoods in Fernwood, Big Sur. Never seen rays quite like this before, the still darkness of the morning shade and the bright light filtering through the trees made for a great monochrome.

Lincoln, Vermont USA • According to their website: The Sunray Peace Village is located at the base of Odali Utugi, Hope Mountain, in Lincoln, Vermont. The Peace Village land has been consecrated as a sanctuary for spiritual renewal and planetary healing. It is inspired by the traditional Tsalagi (Cherokee) Peace Villages, places of healing and sanctuary, where communities of holy people and their extended families lived in a ceremonial way.

The Peace Stupa: In 1984, while visiting the valley, Running Bear the father of Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo, felt we were fulfilling the direction of her grandparents by moving to this valley and he had visions of Stupas up and down the road. In 1996 his Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche chose and consecrated the ground for the building of a Peace Stupa. The Peace Stupa transforms aggression and reconciles the appearance of discord to energize the potential for peace among all beings.

Taken in the grounds of the Geffrye Museum

The museum is sited in the former almshouses of the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers; these were established from the will of Sir Robert Geffrye (1613–1703). Geffrye (or Geffery) was an East India merchant, knighted in 1673, who was also Master of the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers, a Sheriff of London in 1674 and Lord Mayor of the city in 1685.

The 14 almshouses were for the widows of ironmongers. In 1911 the houses were sold to London County Council, and reopened as a museum in 1914 focusing on furniture.

Concentric circles on the Cardiff Bay Barrage with sunrays. These circles were recently painted by artist Felice Varinion on the Cardiff Bay Barrage Locks at a cost of £25,000. You have to stand in a certain spot in order to see the circles otherwise it looks like yellow lines.

I have another image of the circles here www.flickr.com/photos/time_grabber/494653769/

A view over a mountain range towards the ocean

Liverpool's skyline bathed in some rare sun rays, the Liver Buildings just visible in the distance.

I had a wonderful opportunity to shoot on the course at Chambers Bay Golf Course here in University Place. As many of my Flickr friends may know, Chambers Bay is perhaps my most favorite place to take photos, as evidenced by the plethora of sunsets and HDR images in my photostream. The wonderful aspect was that the view is so completely different from where I usually shoot.

This is a hand-held, 3 exposure, HDR processed with Photomatix and additionally processed with PhotoShop Elements 3 and MicroSoft Picture it! 10.
