On Saturday the vet put Jasmijn to sleep. She was very weakened, no longer wanted to eat and drink herself. It was the best thing I could do for her.
Zaterdag heeft de dierenarts Jasmijn laten inslapen. Ze wilde niet meer zelf eten of drinken en was erg verzwakt. Dan kun je nog maar een ding voor haar doen.

This is taken from the top of Middle Fell looking to the head of Wastwater and the mountains beyond. This was the moment I thought I had better get down to the lakeside there could be some photo opportunities..See picture in first comment I think the sore knees were worth it
When I first arrived at the beach, I was hopeful for a great sunset, but unfortunately the cloud cover just got too heavy. Still the start was promising.
This was once a municipal rubbish dump and Sheffield Council had to return it back to nature after it's lifespan was complete, It's now part of the Shire Brook Valley where I have been volunteering this year for 29 years.
I know it's not the greatest photograph but it's the first one of the New Year. The fields have been cut for Skylarks, Meadow Pipits and the wildflowers
Happy New Year everybody

The Mute swan actually gets its name from the fact that its is less vocal than other swan species and is one of the heaviest flying birds. A male swan is known as a Cob while the female is known as a Pen and has a lifespan of around 12 years in the wild and can reach 30 years if in an protected environment. One of three species of wild swans to be found in the UK and is the national bird of Denmark. The Mute Swan is unique in making a vibrant throbbing sound with the wings when in flight. A large group of swans can be called, school, ballet and regatta. No swan has ever broken anyone's arm, this is a actually a complete myth.

Hi there,
Spring flowers are finally emerging, a welcome sight after our extremely long and cold winter. I snapped this today while on a neighbourhood walk.

A small reddish thrush that is scarce in my area. Despite active looking, prior to this year I had not seen one for perhaps 5 years and had not photographed one since 2015. Suddenly, this spring they appeared in multiple locations and several were on my property.

Good morning everyone, I've been taking my camera to the only places I go nowadays, and that's to the Casino in Coconut Creek, and to my wife's Infusion Center and drive around looking for subjects to photograph, sometimes I get lucky and sometimes not, this guy was at the pond on Casino grounds and looking like he joined the crowed and lost.
Thanks to all for everything.
