This plant was hybridized by Sir Jeremiah Colman in 1919 and carries many awards. Most plants in existence are divisions of the original plant! It blooms mid spring for me and is a plant for those with a large growing space! I believe the plant is a cross of puchellum × illustre. Photo taken in the greenhouse.
We took this picture a long time ago. We were driving home from the mountain late 2004 and the clouds and the sun made for a really sweet photo.
Someone else pointed out that the picture was a juxtaposition of natural and artificial light. I can't claim to be clever enough to do that on purpose, but I'll pretend to anyway.
The awesome sunrays out to sea at Weston-super-Mare recently. The beam of light was shining down on the island of Flatholme, and was an irresistable shot, but it's come out almost as if it was pasted on.
