tussen Valkenswaard en Achel

One of the awesome things about the typical gulf coast summer is that cloud formations around with scattered showers make for some awesomely dramatic skies.

I found the rays on this afternoon to be pretty interesting. The fronts did bring with them some decent wind gusts, combined with sketchy light over Mobile made this a more of a challenge than usual in terms of aerial work.

Sun beams bathe the hills in the Olympic Mountains.

Happy 4th!!!!

It was an beautiful sunset this afternoon. I wished I had finished work 10 minutes earlier as when I got to Cleveland Point there were sunrays at the top and bottom of the clouds but by the time I actually walked to the jetty the sun was setting quite quickly. It was incredibly windy as well, so much so that there were waves in the bay and my camera was getting splashed.

Many thanks for stopping by & for all of your nice comments, faves, awards and invites!! ❤(ᵔᴥᵔ)❤

In 1980, Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok founded the Larung Ngarig Buddhist Academy (Tibetan: བླ་རུང་ལྔ་རིག་ནང་བསྟན་སློབ་གླིང་།, ZYPY: Larung Ngarig nangdän lobling, Chinese: 喇荣五明佛学院; pinyin: Larong Wuming foxueyuan), in the Larung Valley (喇荣沟) near the township of Larung in Sêrtar County, Garzê Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The purpose of the Institute has been to provide an ecumenical training in Tibetan Buddhism and to meet the need for renewal of meditation and scholarship all over Tibet in the wake of China’s Cultural Revolution of 1966-76.

Despite its remote location, it grew from a handful of disciples gathering in Jigme Phuntsok's home to be one of the largest and most influential centers for the study of Tibetan Buddhism in the world, numbering to nearly 10,000 monks, nuns, and lay disciples by the year 2000. As of 2015, the number of residents has grown to about 40,000.
