Taken at Towradgi Beach ( about 90kms south of Sydney, Australia) on a lovely Sunday evening. I know...its not great quality, but its the best I have of those amazing sunrays :-)
This was one of those surprise scenes that you just run across. I was driving down the road early one morning and I saw the sunrays as I rounded a curve. I continued up around the curve you see in the pic and turned around. Luckily I caught the shot before the rays disappeared.
We stayed at Sunset Beach, North Carolina, so we could meet Leslie's sister and her family on their vacation. Of course, I can't go to the beach and NOT do sunrise. While scurrying around, I (finally) noticed this person doing yoga and photographed her in a number of her poses. I spoke with her (she had already talked to several people so didn't seem to feel she was being distracted from her discipline). She visits the beach every morning for sunrise and leads classes or simply groups who wish to show up with her. I told her I had some photos and have emailed the finished versions to her. This one starts life in Lightroom and is finished off in NIK color efex pro. I wish I were better at cloning so I could remove the walker in the distance.
