Designed by William and Segar Owen, the Lady Lever Art Gallery in the village of Port Sunlight, was commissioned by William Lever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme, to house his eclectic collections of paintings, sculpture, furniture and other items. It opened to the public in 1922 and is now part of National Museums Liverpool. On display in the South Sculpture Hall is a marble and bronze statue by Maurice Ferrary (1899) called Salammbo.
This is the only shaft from the surface coming straight down into the mine. The opening is the size of a pontoon boat (that's how the tour boat got in - it was lowered down).
Early in the morning, from the darkness, emerges a creature that wants nothing more than to bask in the warm glowy glow of the burning star. And this creature is a 6 month old Shiba Inu named Phineas.
