I've got more of the dictionary series to come, but i wanted to share the sunset at Compton Bay from sunday evening first. I went to take pictures of a friend surfing but this little boy (and the sunset) turned out to be the star

when we stopped to see the spawning kokonee salmon, I was amazed at the beauty of the sunlight topping off the golden aspens.
The Port Sunlight War Memorial stands in a central position in the model village of Port Sunlight, Wirral, Merseyside, England. The founder of the village and employer of its residents, William Lever, was anxious to have a memorial to commemorate those of his workers who had been lost in the First World War. As early as 1916 he commissioned Goscombe John to design a war memorial, which was completed and unveiled in 1921 by two of his employees. It consists of a granite runic cross with bronze statues and reliefs and has the theme "Defence of the Realm". On the memorial are the names of all of the company's employees who died as a result of both World Wars.

Since my first timelapse was getting very under exposed by this point, I decided to switch lenses and catch the last of the show with a tighter crop.
I tried a time stack with the timelapse footage, but the only part I liked was the water, so I kept that and added the sky from one of earlier frames in the timelapse.
The title is from Saul Williams' most recent album "Volcanic Sunlight" (2011) which this photo reminded me of, so I'm giving it another listen. I'm a pretty big fan of his work, but Volcanic Sunlight has taken a little longer to grow on me than his previous work.
