The heat was out at church today. Sure was glad I layered with the turtleneck and leggings!

Mom: [laughs] This had to be his second birthday?

Me: Yeah. You got a lot of cards.

Mom: In those days, we all sent a lot of cards.

Me: I was in a stationery store recently, and I was looking around, and thinking "I don't understand this store anymore. I once did, but now I don't" The emotions behind the cards seem so...foreign to me.

Mom: Hmm. In what way?

Me: It's the whole idea of letting a pre-fab thought speak for you.

Mom: Yes.

Me: It seems...I dunno. A little pointless? Although I can see circumstances when a certain amount of distance is more socially expected. I guess.

Mom: Yeah.

Mom: Now, this island wasn't as green as Puerto Rico. I guess because it was windy and hilly. You didn't see the parched grass you see here in Puerto Rico.

Taken with a Mamiya RZ-67 in 2006. Easter Sunday was hot this year and close-ups of Holly shows she has really pink cheeks from being out in the sun. The dress and shoes she's wearing were all especially purchased for her Easter outing.

Mom: Everyone really loved the lobby. But see, this is how you dressed up on a Sunday afternoon. This was really no occasion other than that they went to see my apartment.

Me: This is definitely Tommy's birthday.

Mom: Yeah.

Me: His second.

Played hookey today. We think Penelope might have the chicken pox. Still thought I'd share what I wore:

Top: DownEast

Cardigan: Lands' End

Jeans: Babystyle Maternity

Hello friends,

I still live here!!

--ooOOoo--

Hola amigos,

Todavía sigo viviendo aquí

My girls probably won`t get nearer to a Mimsy hat than this ;)

Mom: Oh wow. I kinda don't remember those jackets. They must've been in, 'cause I wouldn't pick jackets like that now!

Mom: This is probably at Uncle Danny's, and I think Cousin Michael took these.

Mom: Aw! That's a sweet picture. Jay was always holding my hand...he was always taking care of me.

The groom's father, who is a farmer, arrives in his Sunday-best suit on a steamy evening that was the setting of an outdoor wedding in Georgia.
