Marci: Danm Finn, hurry up! I thought you'd be up here by now!

Finn: This isn't as easy as it looks alright! It's not like I can just fly up there! *sigh* Where's Jake when you need him!

Miette and Gertrude and their respective dolly mums (me and Sophia) had a lovely time today. It will be the last time we see each other for a year before Sophia leaves Australia to study in London. We wish her the very best for this exciting time in her life.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Meanwhile Blanche calls her dolly friends :-)

So good that dolls can have raincoats and rubber boots like us! Otherwise, I don't know how we'd be able to walk with them when it rains :-p ;-D

Thanks to the inspiration of Ambrosia Girl I now own purple tights.

The current exhibition at Styal is that of costumes reproduced from those seen in photographs left by the Greg family who were mill builders and owners at Styal.

Dress: hand-me down from a friend, but I believe it was Nordstrom in the 90s.

An African American lady wearing a white dress, gloves and hat posing with a Chevrolet. A church building can be seen in the background, so she is probably a churchgoer dressed in her sunday best for Mass. The print is marked "AUG 64".

What can be more pleasant for birthday, than to get flowers and wonderful wishes from the dearest people and to take a picture of dollies who dressed up so nicely for their mom's birthday?! :-))

Spending some time with the awesome in-laws in Phoenix for the next 9 days. I'm loving the warm weather! It's so great to finally bust out my more summery clothes & shoes!!

Mom: Oh, here's Nanny and Tommy. They're all happy.

Me: Do you remember anything about how you guys celebrated this time around?

Mom: Ah...it was probably just a barbecue or a dinner. It wasn't anything too fancy. It was probably an inside dinner rather than an outside one. Or maybe we went out. I must say we all do look rather dressed up. That picture behind them is jarring my senses. It's ugly!

Me: Then why did you buy it?

Mom: I suppose it had the colors I was decorating with. And I suppose I must've liked it. It was modern, and it went with the modern room, but looking at it it now, it's horrible. Though in person I think it was a little prettier than it was here.
