Just a very calm and friendly sea turtle having a sunbath on the warm beach! While snorkeling in the shallows, he (or she?) actually swam right up behind me without my knowledge, and when I turned around, I nearly had a heart attack. Afterwards, I just watched him come ashore and flop down for a rest. I kept my distance after he nearly took my butt off (something about turning around to see a giant sea turtle about a foot from you face is startling, you know? Not to mention you're supposed to be 10 feet away from them or so), but he was great fun to photograph.

This photo is of David Newton, Helen Butler, June Newtown, Sharon Flight and Craig Butler sunbathing out the front of the Flight's shack. The shack was from a house Ray and Nita pulled down and moved to Couta Rocks. They used to sunbake everywhere. Thanks to Nita Flight for the photo.
I rotated the image 1 degree to get the horizontal line close to correct, sharpend the image, resized, then bumped up the contrast and saturation.

I went to Denbies Hillside on Saturday, and it was a fine sunny day with a lot of little butterflies about if you took the time to look for them. This is a Grizzled Skipper warming itself in the sun while resting on some vegetation.

People are sunbathing in the park: this is a scene photographed in New York, at Central Park that could be called almost an urban beach in the heart of Manhattan. The green grass is in contrast to the glass and concrete skyscrapers. Instead going from city to metropolis it has become quite usual to see the sun bathers stretched out on the grass, consistent with rules, customs and habits. So also it is at the Lumpini Park in Bangkok though these two people I would look like two white flies because their behavior is an anomaly: they are probably foreigners, maybe tourists, lying quiet, not far from wild lizards, heedless the humid heat that makes sweat well in the shade, while the locals prefer to enjoy the view and the place under leafy palms.
