I wish I was lying on a rooftop sunning myself right now. Well, maybe not...you never know who's on a rooftop ;)

Just enjoying the sun. The keeper said that they were actually sunbathing.

I went to Denbies Hillside on Saturday, and it was a fine sunny day with a lot of little butterflies about if you took the time to look for them. This is a Grizzled Skipper warming itself in the sun while resting on some vegetation.

People are sunbathing in the park: this is a scene photographed in New York, at Central Park that could be called almost an urban beach in the heart of Manhattan. The green grass is in contrast to the glass and concrete skyscrapers. Instead going from city to metropolis it has become quite usual to see the sun bathers stretched out on the grass, consistent with rules, customs and habits. So also it is at the Lumpini Park in Bangkok though these two people I would look like two white flies because their behavior is an anomaly: they are probably foreigners, maybe tourists, lying quiet, not far from wild lizards, heedless the humid heat that makes sweat well in the shade, while the locals prefer to enjoy the view and the place under leafy palms.

This was the best spot for sunbathing (when people weren't chucking water towards it).

A major UK newspaper wanted an animal photo op on the hottest day of the year in London this summer. We put togther this scene of Nicky the Pygmy Hippo having suncream rubbed into her back (perfectly safe, don't worry!)

This was my shot (It was actually better that the pro's they sent from the newspaper!)

(I recently took an office job at London Zoo this summer. This is a snap from my time there.)

I spotted this little guy (well he was pretty big) sunbathing on the wall of the Fort Zachary today when I was taking some family pictures.

My tiger caught sunbathing in yesterday's afternoon sun that was shining in through the window.
