In the absence of Golden Eagles or wild animals or any fresh flowers I had to be content with practicing in the garden and found quite a lot! Including this spider: Araneus Diadematus otherwise known as the Garden Orb Spider (quite harmless!)

Tiffany had a visit to the groomers today, which she hates, but she does look lovely and seems pleased to be without all that hair !
The others were a bit concerned when I returned without her having dropped her off at the beauty parlour.
"We have been out here all day. My cheeks are red and I am sure I am burnt in places."
"Sounds like a personal problem. You of should have tanned like me 'hairless cat style'".
"We only have one smiley ball and you used it."
"Ahh, so true. Let's lay out again tomorrow and I'll give you a turn."
"That's OK. I think I'd rather be tanned unevenly and I am sure the neighbors agree since we are in the front yard."
"True that."

In Anbetracht dessen, was gerade in meiner Heimatstadt Hamburg passiert, verging mir die Lust an sozialen Netzwerken, Medien und Nachrichten im Allgemeinen. Aber das Leben geht weiter. Und deshalb habe ich mich auf draußen dem Feld etwas abgelenkt ... und lade diese Blume hoch. Euch allen einen schönen Tag. :)
Long ago, one of the first Indonesian words I learned the word was for cat, because cats are everywhere here. This fellow has seen better days,but he still enjoyed a bit of basking in the warmth of the Maluku sun.

Temperatures hovering around zero today because of the nasty windchill. Didn't seem to bother this little junco.
I saw a bald eagle about 5 minutes after this shot, so I left the car, set up my tripod and ventured out into the cold. I lasted a whole 10 minutes outside, too cold for me... and the eagle never came back.

This endangered Cigar Orchid flower was hanging very low almost touching the water so it was a real challenge sun was blasting on it and I had forgotten my reflector shade , so I made the sacrifice of swamping my bud to take this picture in the sun and it did turn out to be my favorite of a very special day, Veerle her Birthday.
