The Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) is an African crocodile, the largest freshwater predator in Africa, and may be considered the second-largest extant reptile and crocodilian in the world. The Nile crocodile is quite widespread throughout sub-Saharan Africa, occurring mostly in the central, eastern, and southern regions of the continent, and lives in different types of aquatic environments such as lakes, rivers, and marshlands. Although capable of living in saline environments, this species is rarely found in saltwater, but occasionally inhabits deltas and brackish lakes. The range of this species once stretched northward throughout the Nile, as far north as the Nile delta. On average, the adult male Nile crocodile is between 3.5 and 5 m in length and weighs upto 750 kg.
This Crocodile was seen on a late evening boat ride sunbathing on the shores of Lake Baringo, Kenya.

Wall lizard Podarcis muralis. I like his splayed toes. Often you'll be minding your own business and one of these characters will sidle up to you and settle down to catch some rays, maybe take a passing fly or two
He was completle exhausted from one of his first trips to my balcony. After fifteen minutes of hard work by picking up even the smallest crumbs of todays left-over birdfood, he relaxed for a while in the sun with his eyes closed :)

I always love a sunbathing Bee Fly! I particularly love the way this Bee Fly is resting one foot on the pine needles!
A doll is resting on a windowsill in a derelict house in Zalissya, the first abandoned village we visited in the Chernobyl 30 km exclusion zone.

The sunlight was warm and bright on a September morning at the Denver Zoo, Colorado. The Cheetah could barely stay awake, but for a moment she regally sat up to survey her environment before returning to her nap.
Happy Truck Thursday!
This treasure was near my daughters house. I can't quite make out the words on the door, looks like Armers S____Y Store.

This beautiful Camellia Sasanqua is called “Kanjiro”. I picked these delightful cerise blooms the other day and put them in a tall Art Deco glass vase on my kitchen bench. I captured them bathing in the dappled morning sunlight.
Vigorous, Camellia sasanqua 'Kanjiro' is a magnificent Japanese beauty with masses of large, single to semi-double, rich cerise blossoms. They are delicately shaded paler at the center and the base of the petals which gives the appearance of a central stripe. The blooms occur over quite a long period between March and June in the Southern Hemisphere which makes them very popular. They are often used for hedges or to cover walls.
