Out for an hour on the wolds, soaking up the sun at Scamblesby. Had some beautiful late evening light before sunset.
Thanks for looking.

This may be a variety of turtles or just all Red-eared sliders (Trachemys scripta elegans). The smallest one's red markings are visible the others may not be as obviously red-eared. There are several native MO turtles that have the striped heads so closer looks would be required for IDs. They were all enjoying the sunshine after several cloudy and rainy days. We all feel that way as well.
The woodland walk around the loch at Fyvie castle .. the sun caught the leaves in a small glade.
I was sorting through my archives, when I came across this. I had just bought my Tele-macro 100mm lens, and took it out for the first outdoor shoot at Fyvie loch. The lens was too big and heavy for the compact Sony NEX series of cameras, so I had to find an old A58 to use with it. It seems so very long ago - and the Tele-macro lens has become my go-to lens for all manner of shooting situations! Now on a more recent body - and very heavy - I rarely leave home without it ;o)

The Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) is an African crocodile, the largest freshwater predator in Africa, and may be considered the second-largest extant reptile and crocodilian in the world. The Nile crocodile is quite widespread throughout sub-Saharan Africa, occurring mostly in the central, eastern, and southern regions of the continent, and lives in different types of aquatic environments such as lakes, rivers, and marshlands. Although capable of living in saline environments, this species is rarely found in saltwater, but occasionally inhabits deltas and brackish lakes. The range of this species once stretched northward throughout the Nile, as far north as the Nile delta. On average, the adult male Nile crocodile is between 3.5 and 5 m in length and weighs upto 750 kg.
This Crocodile was seen on a late evening boat ride sunbathing on the shores of Lake Baringo, Kenya.
