We allowed Victor to explore Nina's habitat. They touched noses and sniffed. He meowed softly; she purred. She never moved while he tried her food, thoroughly smelled her litterbox, and eventually tried to sniff her tail. Then she startled him and he gave a couple hisses and growls, then left. She's not coming out yet but accepts Victor.
From September 15th to 19th the second of the four JCOM Masterclasses, educational programmes aimed at an international audience and held by international experts takes place. For the 20 selected participants this interactive course represents a unique opportunity to discuss the state-of-the-art of science exhibition development with particular focus on the possible different design approaches, helping participants to reflect on the relationship between the different media, contents and visitors' experience.
This was the 3rd time Henley succeeded on the way up but had to phone the fire department to facilitate his descent.

USG successfully hosted the first annual Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success (ACES) Summer Bridge Program from June 16-19, 2014. ACES seeks to support students and create a seamless pathway from high school to college completion.
This year's theme was "Why Not You" and focused on career preparation and exploration. Students participated in activities that developed leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills essential for success in today's workforce.
Over 250 rising seniors attended the program. Coaching and support will continue for ACES scholars as they pursue their education with Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery College, and the Universities at Shady Grove.
Everything came out good in this past weekend's bisque. I think I'll bisque again this upcoming weekend. That'll give me plenty of work to chose from in the new wood kiln. I still have two more big bisques, but I need to make some bowls to fill up the kiln for a full load.

This impressive triple-decker was built in 1920. It has recently been restored and converted into three condominiums, successfully infusing period charm with contemporary warmth and ease. A hallmark of this house is the rooftop deck which affords spectacular views of Pleasure Bay and Boston Harbor.
This unit reflects the current owners’ New England ancestry as well as their many travels. The living area features a three-sided glass fireplace, crown moldings, and maplewood floors. Its Asian-inspired theme blends easily with the strength expressed by the kitchen’s stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Cherry cabinets add a soft blush uniting these elements. The dining table is set with the owner's grandmother's wedding china, complemented by pieces of Chinese porcelain and Hungarian red glassware. Favorite pieces include the silk-embroidered Chinese artwork in the kitchen and the Japanese woodblock over the fireplace.
The neutral color of the walls creates a welcoming background for the home’s unique furnishings, a blend of well-loved family antiques and pieces collected from far-flung travels. A hallmark of the living area is the black walnut coffee table. This spectacular piece was purchased in Naples, Italy, approximately 40 years ago. The walnut base was specially constructed to fit the marble top which dates back to the 16th century. Some of the other furnishings were constructed by Wallace Nutting, (1861-1941) a renowned New England furniture maker, famous for his reproductions of period antiques, and his wide knowledge of colonial America, among many other accomplishments.
Went for my LIPF distinction yesterday and was successful. Am chuffed :-)
It's a lot harder to put together a panel than I thought and I was way more nervous than I thought I would be when they were judging :-)

The newly formed Senior Wrestling League competition between Aspull Warriors and City of Manchester Wrestling Club, was held at the Aspull on Saturday Saturday 21 Jan 2023.
Following 10 exciting and tough matches City of Manchester gained the win.

This event is part of the two pilot leagues which were launching in September 22.
This could be a huge step for the development of wrestling in this country. If successful with our pilot season this could lead to the launch of a nationwide league launching in every region of the UK by the end of 2023.

A Peregrine circles over our garden to gain height with its prey - a Ring-Necked Parakeet - before heading off to the nearby hills. At first I thought it might be an escaped bird with jesses trailing, but that was the tail of the Parakeet. The Ring-Necked Parakeets are extremely fast and agile fliers, so the skill of the Peregrine in bagging one has to be admired.
