Recognize this, Kim?

I've been tagged with this newest craze of telling 16 things about myself. I'm supposed to tag 16 other people to do the same. It really smacks of those e-mails that ask you to do such and such and send it on to all of your friends...yaddayaddayadda. I delete them.

But this is kind of cool, so I am doing it.

I am going to choose 16 people, but not until after Christmas. And I am fine if all 16 choose to delete.

Here goes

1. I have a Master's degree in Children's Literature and Creative writing. That's why Demi is so much fun for me.

2. I am the luckiest person I know. As my wonderful, wonderful mother-in-law always says: I'd rather be lucky than smart.

3. Math, statistics, numbers are a mystery to me. I just don't get it.

4. I treasure times with my family.

5. That includes, of course, the Golden Girls, Kismet and Maddie.

6. Laughter is my favorite activity and I love to make other people laugh.

7.I treasure my non-Flickr friends even though only ONE of them (thank you, D) looks at my pics nearly every day.

8. I hold my Flickr friends very dear to my heart. It's a microcosm of all that is good with the world.

9. I love the skunky smell of puppies

10. I love the baby smell of babies.

11. I love birthday cake.

12. I love to photograph patterns and colors, people, nature and wildlife and any humorous scene.

13. I love turning strangers into friends. I believe in people. I believe in their stories.

14. Through photography, I am learning to look up from minutia and see the bigger picture. But I still love minutia.

15. I believe in nature's tangible gifts: a smooth stone, a blue jay's feather, an empty bird's nest.

16. I am not neat or organized and I tend to be impulsive.

So sue me.

BTW, one of the people who tagged me was www.flickr.com/photos/auntsue/3130787972/. Check it out. I was inspired. :)

These are the same Pronghorn bucks featured in yesterday's post. They alternated between grazing and sparring for about five minutes, sending subtle (for me) but clear (to them) signals when one wanted to resume. And a second or two later they'd be squaring off again, nose to nose. It was immensely entertaining and exciting to view at close range in good light.

I am ending my "Half A Day In the Life" image set here. There were other wildlife encounters as I completed a long loop to get home without backtracking, but the light had started to flatten out by then, and nothing could come close to matching the show these two bad boys put on. Thanks to everyone for being good passengers in this virtual tour and not scaring the critters away!

I love how the leftover dots from the last blast looks like stars.

A soft sunrise from the ferry wharf in Ettalong Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

Windy, wind...er... windy

Maybe, but certainly not sharp. At least as pertains to geography- we are far from the 100th meridian where the Great Plains start. We are more properly in the Upper Midwest's Driftless Region here.

As promised, the last snow shot.

A windy desolate landscape with subtle undertones of color and beauty.

Azeleas and Rhodedendrons, Arduaine Gardens, Argyll.

I have Man Flu and really didn't want to go far this morning but the early light tempted me down to the beach. I wrapped up very well but cut a pathetic figure, shivering in my Wellies! Tested later, at my family's suggestion, I showed positive for Covid 19.

A sunset doesn't need to be intense in order to be beautiful, at least in my opinion.

We do get some stunning sunsets here on the Wirral

Last night's was a much more subtle affair and it was

very windy hence the grasses have a similar softness about them

A vireo of subtle hues that is an incredible songster in Spring. Lake St. Clair.

It's going to be a long time, before I'll see spring flowers. However, what was left from them from last season, is pretty too ...

Many thanks to all for visiting, commenting and faving.

Have a wonderful weekend!

As we search and hunt the hills for the bright fall colors, these little quiet gems are often ignored. Sunlight and shadows play with the hues in the early morning....

Hiking the fence line along the meadow and these little leaves just "yelled" at me!

I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright.

Back to the knitting with this one, standing in a sea pool up to my knees shooting at my fave location.

This is Selfoss, about 1.000 m upstream from Dettifoss.

A vast landscape is dominated by swirling, ominous clouds hinting at an approaching storm. The darkened sky contrasts with the subtle light of the horizon, casting a moody atmosphere over the open fields. Sparse vegetation on the gentle hills adds to the stark beauty of the scene.

I know selective colouring is frowned upon in many circles, however this is my play on Selective Colours. Using the desaturation of the true colour of the flowers of this shrub giving it an unatural and subtle but delicate twist on the norm.
