Stuttering Barred Frog (Mixophyes balbus), Gibraltar Range, NSW.
One of the most beautiful frogs in NSW and one of the more endangered ones. Late September to early October is the key breeding season for this species which occurs at scattered mountain localities from the Central Coast to the northern edges of the Gibraltar Range. There were dozens of males along the creeks in the area with their deep stuttering call which was good to see.
i've always loved the leather-clad doors at doe library, with their stuttering studs and antique framed windows, and those carnivalesque pointing hands.

The "stutter" of the shadows of the pedestrians is caused (I think) by their shadows being suddenly increased in contrast whenever a car passed behind them.

And if we get beaten by this winter, If we get strangled by regret, just let our love of life and tension
Gasp in sweet and stuttered breaths, and have them lay us in a basement,Smash some bottles on the ground, and say we never knew the difference between the feeling and the sound.

The sound of hooves conspires to carry me back, while stubborn steps make stuttered progress up an ancient, narrow hill. Nothing is particularly placed, when your neighbour may likely predate you by centuries. I hear the voice of old awareness, the way that was and never will be again. So slow the idea, of everything new, that's for another world. When it happens here, it's almost unwanted, where wanderers come from all over to imagine how it was. I'm no different, just a little bit enraptured with the emotions of a time out of mind. Always ready to remember – don't mind me, refuge from the land of forgetful. Sounding off and out of reach again.

Stuttering Frog (Mixophyes balbus) from Gloucester Tops. This is an endangered species, and has become locally extinct in many place. For some reason, the Gloucester area seems to be a stonghold for them.
Just uploaded this to see the blue in the upper part of the eye. It is a distinguishing feature.
