A pretty straight forward light study I did. I really like the use of the airbrush tool to shade.

Glass Blowing factory in Stabl Antar, Cairo Egypt....our study abroad group helped these 3 brothers set up a website with their glass products. The best part about this place was that there was no running water, but they still offered us coca-cola....such a great experience.

January 26, 2011 Irina Shubina, Astana ACIE Regional Representative, Samat Panov, Muskie 2005-2007 alumnus and Berik Ryskeldinov, Main specialist of the LTD “Financial Center” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyev. The theme of the meeting with the students and faculty was “Applying to graduate school in the USA”. I.Shubina prepared PPt . The main focus of this PPt presentation was How to Find the Right Program and Understand the Graduate Experience.
She disseminated a lot of useful handouts and gave useful web sites for prospective graduate students such as
www.phds.org where students can get lists of programs in a certain area of study or provide their priorities and get a “ranked” list
www.gradschools.com: particularly easy to find a program in a specific state of the US
www.gradportal.org: good regional search. Also Irina Shubina invited students to participate in online EdUSA Connects sessions: Researching Choices on January 26, 10pm-11pm
The Value of Liberals Arts Education, Michelle Lewis, Director of International Programs, Carroll College (Montana) and January 28, 10pm-11pm, Engineering Graduate Programs, Mario Vidalon, Director Center for Advanced Engineering & Technology Education, University of Colorado at Boulder.
Also I.Shubina informed about Opportunity Grant and encouraged students to apply to American Universities.
Samat Panov, Muskie 2007 alumnus shared with his experience to study at American University and underlined cultural differences between our system of education and American system of Education.
Berik Ryskeldinov, MON RK Representative informed students about loans and different social programs for students in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Tristan Perich: Interval Studies

LEAP is pleased to present a solo exhibition by New York-based artist and composer Tristan Perich. Perich will be exhibiting a body of work that include the sound sculptures Interval Studies and two mural-sized Machine Drawings – the result of a long-standing interest in code and systems. (Interval Studies was created during the Copenhagen Artist in Residence through Mikrogalleriet).
