At 3:55AM on January 5, 2025 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1500 block of W 2006th St in Harbor Gateway South.
Firefighters extinguished fire in a one-story, single family dwelling with no injuries reported.

Mojave station building, built in 1888 to replace the previous structures, more than one being lost to misfortunes such as fires and explosions since the Southern Pacific commenced operations over the Tehachapi Mountains in 1876. Originally a 2 story building with a hotel, lunchroom and apartments for local railroad employees, the second story was removed in 1935.
One may note the lettering SOUTHERN PACIFIC SANTA FE on the station sign on the north end of the building, this was NOT in reference to the in-progress SPSF merger (later denied by the ICC in 1987) but referred to joint operation with the AT&SF when that company completed a connecting line from Barstow in 1900. This structure had clearly seen better days by this time as noted by the decaying roof and peeling paint, the building was torn down in October of 1992. Mojave CA USA, some time in 1986.

The chapel of Lead is a small structure set alone in the middle of a field close to Tadcaster. The field adjoins the battlefield of the biggest battle ever to be held on English soil. 50,000 men died at the battle of Towton, which took place on Palm Sunday 1461. Rough 16th century benches and 13th century coffin lids in the nave.
