The local neighbourhood cat hangs out on the same corner most days, and he's a total slut for being stroked. He lounges around inviting passers-by to come and pet him, and makes lots of friends who say hello and give him a rub behind the ears. I'm clearly not the only one who's made friends with him, as today I saw someone had written this on the wall where he can usually be found (though when I took this photo he was a bit further along, in the shade, though he padded over to nuzzle me and coax me to give him some strokes once I'd put the phone away.....)
my favorite. this is actually how I look at the workout before I hop in since I am usually late...

When Grandad had his stroke in the late 1950s, Aunty Rona bought the caravan so that we could play as well as sleep out there and reduce the noise levels in the house. So it was our turf. A great boon on summer days when the rain poured down. I still remember the smell of pee from the toilet bucket, which we were often a bit slow to empty. We had an old wind-up gramophone, which we used for games (e.g. racing cars) as well as for its appointed purpose. We destroyed Uncle Arnold's collection of old 78s in the process -- "Felix Kept on Walking" -- as well as by just throwing them out over the beach, or melting them on a fire and moulding them into flower pots. Vandalism. Jean still lives near the village, married a Honeyborough farmer. Met her again at Aunty Rona's funeral, I think that was the last time.
To build the Mopar XJ Stroker, the team started with a stock 2001 Jeep XJ and built a full-blown, off-road rig using Mopar performance parts. First step was to replace the stock engine with Mopar's new 4.7-liter I-6 Stroker engine, a powerful upgrade for the 4.0-liter I-6 made famous in Jeep vehicles built from 1991-2006. The direct "bolt in" long block is complete with crankshaft and pistons. For optimum off-road visibility, the doors were replaced with Mopar's XJ tube doors. To complete the off-road protection, XJ front and rear bumpers and custom rock rails were installed.
