I found a strobe light in my house and thought I'd try and take a few photos using only the strobe for lighting... these are my first atempt!

Fun nights look like this.

Photo silkscreen. CMYK. 20"x30" paper.

A photograph of the Eiffel Tower while they lit up the strobe lights.

I taught a strobe lesson in Shinjuku, with the help of the talented Youko Sunshine and makeup by Beauty By Alexandre. After we got the makeup on, it went fantastically. Thanks to everyone involved, and especially to David and Tom.

The picture here doesn't do any justice to the experience of being in a pitch-black gymnasium with a strobelight going on! It's so mindbending and nervewracking that the young people could only take a couple of minutes of it at a time. Yes, people really do look cool as they appear to move in slow motion.

Correctly exposed photo, it looks good in the natural daylight.

Strobist info:

One flash lighting the background and a £2.99 disco strobe from Argos lights the foreground, streaks made by mobile phone.

Me, the SB-600, and the remote control for the Nikon!

This cruise was so amazing, like a teenie bopper dance club and a retirement community at the same time

Some are extreme but the only way to learn is to test and push the boundries! My patient 12 yr old daughter was a little star.
