Wanted to share another image from the musical instrument macro photography class that I recently attended. It's back to the violin again, which turned out to be my favorite subject of the afternoon.
I've always had an affinity for string instruments, especially after playing the cello for a number of years -- admittedly that was a quite a long time ago. Still have an appreciation for their sounds though, even all these years later.

A macro view of where the violin strings attach to the tail piece of the violin, taken for the Flickr Friday group theme, "Tension." Crooked lines and a wonky horizon add to the already tense strings. The image frame represents 1½ -inches across.
Strobist info:
The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights placed 90° CL/CR two-feet away and 16-inches above the subject. They were fired through two Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes in Manual mode @ ¼ power.
The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X's.
Lens: Tokina AT - X M100 AF PRO D (AF 100mm f / 2.8 Macro) with 20mm extension tube attached.

I didn't have all the things he had but just used what i had.
My title’s a little misleading, I guess. It’s not that I haven’t seen this part of the sky before–it’s a common sight in the evenings of our Australian summer. The location that I shot at, on the southeastern outskirts of The Australian rural town of Tumut, was somewhere new for me. This particular scene with the Magellanic Clouds, the Coal Sack Nebula, and the central band of the Milky Way over the lonely Tumut Plains Road was an unfamiliar view.
I usually put a lot of effort into avoiding power lines in my shots, but in this case, I think the lonely pole and its delicate black strings across the starry sky add interest to the composition. I plan to revisit Tumut in 2022. With the offer of accommodation at the home of one of my cousins very much open, picking the right time to visit will probably come down to the weather and having an available weekend.
This photo is a single-frame image, shot with my Canon EOS R camera, a Canon 16 mm f/2.8 lens @ f/2.8, using an exposure time of 20 seconds @ ISO 6400.

This is a misty spider web with just a couple drops in focus and the rest out of focus. 50mm f/1.4 wide open.
Piano strings. The action was just removed from our Steinway console upright making it possible to drop a flash inside and photograph the strings. 1:1 reproduction ratio.
