I went back to work today and made the few miniscule changes that were requested on that SOTU video. Apparently when they showed my first cut to the president he was blown away! Looks like we’ll get to do more motion design stuff going forward. Yay!

This evening, Emily and I swung by Westridge Manor to pick up a package that arrived there the day before we left for Vancouver. My Tigre mask came! I got this adorable mask for helping Magda make her incredible new album. She even wrote a sweet note on the back. Thank you Magda!!

Go listen to her album already! Banda Magda: Tigre. Go!

Another look at the gorgeous illuminations around the periphery of the Swaraj Roundabout traffic rotunda. Traffic is blocked around the entire rotunda to allow the Trichur Pooram elephant parades. While I was not sure if this is a permanent structure or a temporary one made from bamboo and paper, I did learn however that such illuminated towers are called Poora Pandal. (literally translates as Pooram canopy/ tent). Crowds mill around the structure to gain a vantage point to watch the soon to begin festivities. (Trichur/ Thrissur, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)

Seattle's newest condominium tower with its rooftop sky pool taking center stage to the downtown skyline.

I think in the future these could be sewn into a scarf.

Another more substantial and squat and gaily illuminated 'Pooram Pandal' shrine along the periphery of the massive Swaraj Roundabout rotunda in the Southern Indian town of Trichur in Kerala. I took a slightly distant shot due to the size of the structure and also to capture a bit of the atmosphere with scores of people milling about, waiting for the parades to start. I thought the brilliant colours contrast perfectly against the jet black sky, something my trusty Nikon D90 dSLR has captured admirably. (Trichur/ Thrissur, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)

"Snow Snow Snow, the snow won't stop falling from the sky." Yotsuba was saying as she looked out the window at the fluffy flakes. Then she got distracted by the V-Day lights I have hanging in the window...

Had a wonderful dinner with 3 of my favorite people on a patio with this as the backdrop...lucky me.

Several people had been telling me good things about Egg House Cafe, so we decided to give it a shot this morning. It’s surprisingly great! The people working there are super nice, and the menu is tasty and diverse. I had their signature omelette, which literally has entire biscuits inside it and is covered in sausage gravy. It sounds gross, and it looks gross, but it tastes pretty dang good.

After we ate, we did a bit of shopping. I looked at some grills for the backyard, and Emily dragged me to Calloway’s to shop for plants and pots. Now we have a lemon tree!

We spent a decent amount of time just hanging out in the backyard this evening. I think this patio thing was a good idea.

Carlow University's Night of Illumination 2014

i love bokeh. honestly, i think they're the most fascinating thing ever. so i started reading up on how to take them. i tried with my DSLR, but i think next time i'll try it with my old school minolta.

day one over! phew this is scary. i didn't even realize i started my project until today when i was snapping pictures and told my boyfriend "i need a good day two!"

and then i was like oh... i guess i'm doing this for real now.
