Let's see... today started out with me laying low and hanging out with a friend (unfortunately she didn't feel good but got better as the day went on). Then, Becky and I went to "The Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group" which is a new place that's only been in business for two weeks. When the group of us walked to Lake Calhoun yesterday, we passed by there and Dusty and I both commented on their 50's diner/cafeteria decor including having the main hallway lined with yellow, green, and blue lunch trays. (It's easier with a picture which I sadly didn't take.)
After other people went to bed, I decided that I wanted a picture outside. I forgot that my friends had all these solar-powered string lights up, so I tried out some shots with them. If I had more time to shoot, I would have tried to incorporate more textures (like the paint chips and light surface).

Almost every structure in Mitchell was decorated for the holidays, even this abandoned and roofless shell of a brick building. I really liked the sparseness of some of the decorations, with the string lights nonetheless carefully aligned.
My beautiful girl will be six months old tomorrow. She has truly been an amazing puppy to watch grow and mature. To date, she has won two puppy sporting groups (large entries) and a Best in Show puppy with over one hundred puppies present.
We hope that your holidays have been amazing and that you spent them with those you love.

These 15 metre-long lights, with cone or sphere lamps, are not just able to illuminate an area. They can be installed in a variety of ways, framing the environment and transforming a space. Michael Anastassiades, a designer who specialises in lighting, describes his inspiration: "every time I take the train, I sit by the window and watch the series of perfectly parallel strings connecting the pylons, as we move at high speed. I love the way they divide the landscape and how spheres are occasionally beaded through the wires at random intervals. I also love how, in Mediterranean cultures, strings of lights are stretched between posts to mark an outdoor space for an evening party in a village square"
