Several people had been telling me good things about Egg House Cafe, so we decided to give it a shot this morning. It’s surprisingly great! The people working there are super nice, and the menu is tasty and diverse. I had their signature omelette, which literally has entire biscuits inside it and is covered in sausage gravy. It sounds gross, and it looks gross, but it tastes pretty dang good.
After we ate, we did a bit of shopping. I looked at some grills for the backyard, and Emily dragged me to Calloway’s to shop for plants and pots. Now we have a lemon tree!
We spent a decent amount of time just hanging out in the backyard this evening. I think this patio thing was a good idea.
i love bokeh. honestly, i think they're the most fascinating thing ever. so i started reading up on how to take them. i tried with my DSLR, but i think next time i'll try it with my old school minolta.
day one over! phew this is scary. i didn't even realize i started my project until today when i was snapping pictures and told my boyfriend "i need a good day two!"
and then i was like oh... i guess i'm doing this for real now.

Another view of the general public milling past towards the starting point of, and around the rotunda for the Trichur Pooram parade. As you can see, the crowd has thickened considerably. Although I am from an overpopulated country India, I generally hate crowds and avoid large gatherings as much as possible. Yet here, maybe due to the anticipation or probably due to the happy festive atmosphere, I was actually enjoying this! (Trichur/ Thrissur, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)
A little further down was another of those 'Poora Pandal' illuminated towers, gaily decked up in string lights for the Trichur Pooram parade. I could not make out if these are permanent structures or temporary ones made from sticks and paper. Whatever, the colours on them were stunning! (Trichur/ Thrissur, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)
Wow, this town has turned the celebration of Communism into an art form! Apart from all those flyers, across the road banners and flags attached to lamp posts, here a cluster of red flags adorns a street ornament! Once again, pardon the poor quality of the picture- it was taken from a fast moving bus out of the dusty front windshield of the vehicle. (Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, Nov. 2016)

Miss Cecily's stylized ballerina statue is twenty five years old. She suddenly moved to a new location. Her veneer needs restoration. I shot this series by moonlight, and a strand of tiny lights across the way...
I experimented with different effects to see what suited her the most. I can never decide these matters. I see something unique about each one... I believe this is B&W... Here she is in B&W. This is the closest to how she looked to my eye, shortly before dawn...
