So as I was saying, the other half of the street after my hotel is not illuminated at all. This is Baku, Azerbaijan- sort of reminded me of Wangfujing St in Beijing. China minus the food street. (Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017)
Back inside the Swaraj Roundabout rotunda, we are now very close to the Vadukkanathan temple where the processions start from. As we approach the temple, we saw scores of people sitting around (despite the 'Do not be Seated' sign under the tree!) waiting for the festivities and the Pooram parade to start. Parkinsonia florida, the blue palo verde (syn. Cercidium floridum), is a species of palo verde native to the Sonoran Deserts in the Southwestern United States and Northwestern Mexico.[1] [2] Its name means "green pole or stick" in Spanish, referring to the green trunk and branches, that perform photosynthesis.
Miss Cecily's stylized ballerina statue is twenty five years old. She suddenly moved to a new location. Her veneer needs restoration. I shot this series by moonlight, and a strand of tiny lights across the way...
I experimented with different effects to see what suited her the most. I can never decide these matters. I see something unique about each one...

Don't know why, but Communist propaganda aside, I simply loved this sign- particularly what appears to be a shrine depicted on it. Reminded me of the depiction of Chinese temples and stuff which you see all the time. Pardon the blur- this was taken from a fast moving bus on a not very smooth road and out of the dusty front windshield of the vehicle. (Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, Nov. 2016)

The other half of the street beyond my hotel wasn't illuminated- that's the stretch which leads to the Fountain Sqr.- our walking tour earlier in the day had started on that stretch. Sitting, rocking on the porch, her eye happened to fall upon an electrical plug-in plate set into the baseboard. Probably so folks could come out here in the summertime and listen to the radio or even have the baseball on that cute little round TV. Nothing in the whole country more common than those little wall-plates with the prong-slits in them. She’d even had them back in her squatter’s shack in Hemingford. You didn’t think nothing of those plates… unless they didn’t work anymore. Then you realized that one hell of a lot of a person’s life came out of them. All that spare time, that pleasure which the long-ago Don King had extolled her on… it came out of those switchplates set into the wall. With their potency taken away, you might as well use all those gadgets like the microwave oven and the ‘trash masher’ to hang your hat and coat on. (Stephen King, The Stand 640)
The world relies on electricity. Everything needs electricity to function. When the power goes out, our lives are put on hold. We need electricity. Strip us of this dangerous discovery and society would be in shambles.
This project illustrates how our lives are ruled by electricity. I use dramatic lighting and contrast to set a sense of urgency. The photos are slightly unnerving. The light beckons to the viewer, calling him/her closer, only to establish its power over society.
One of the most intimate moments of any wedding is the father daughter dance. Make it a moment neither of you will forget with the perfect wedding reception lights. In Bakersfield no one does it better than The Light Guys.

Two “rulers” in the frame, the sea line below and the lights above, with father and son living between them.
My daughter made me the prettiest little mini garden for Mother's day. Looks so pretty next to my northeast facing window. This area gets somewhat diffused lights. I realized it was pitch dark at night and looked lonely so I put a timed stringlight around the garden to cheer it up a bit.

Typically, my family does not decorate for Christmas until December begins. This year, however, my paternal grandparents are coming to visit over the weekend, so we did up the living room early.
