Have been shooting a fair bit lately, but never able to create anything worth posting. This one is no masterpiece, but thought I'd post it anyway before my account goes dormant.

Edmond Arts Festival in downtown Edmond, Oklahoma.

Long day today, rainy day and even rainier night. After work my daughter and I had appointments to get our hair cut. Travel time plus time for each of us to get our cuts took up the whole night. But the plus is that my niece cuts our hair so we get to see her and catch up with what's new. Truth be told, I cannot play a single musical instrument!! As you can see, I don't even know how to hold a guitar to make it look believable! But look - I got my shot done for the day! Day 33 and only 333 left to go!!

Today's shot is for The Hereios' theme, International Play the Ukulele Day. Or in the absence of a uke, String Instruments!

Mamer, Fête de la Musique - Gipsy Kings by Diego Baliardo (FRA/ESP)

The original "Gipsy Kings" band split up in 2014:

- "Gipsy Kings by Nicolas Reyes", led by Nicolas Reyes, the original lead singer, with Tonino Baliardo on guitar.

- "André Reyes ft. Gipsy Kings", led André Reyes (Nicolas' brother), this band also includes members of his family.

- "Gipsy Kings & Chico", led by Chico Bouchikhi, a former member of the original group. However, this group lost the right to use the name “Gipsy Kings”.

- "Gipsy Kings by Diego Baliardo", led by Diego Baliardo.

- "The Gipsy Kings ft. Tonino Baliardo", led by Tonino Baliardo.

Each of these groups claims a part of the Gipsy Kings' musical heritage, offering a diversity of performances and interpretations that continue to attract large audiences around the world.

This is my self assignment. Four guitars with four cameras. I'm not working at the moment (yeah) and its too cold outside.

This is an Ibanez SR 600 bass. So much fun to play with a fast narrow neck (not me, the bass.) Ibanez uses a very natural look on their guitar bodies without the thick varnish finishes like many companies. Their guitars are beautiful.

The Heineken stage was good not only for beer drinkers, but also for jazz lovers.

Beer was not free, but the jazz was. The audience came to support both. If you came early, it was one of the best places to be at the Montreal Jazz Festival. If you came late; tough luck, unless you are over 6' ft tall.

I inherited my grandfather's violin. I took lessons for a while at primary and secondary school but was no musical master. It is nice to still have the instrument but I have not made any recent attempts to get going again!

I don't actually play guitar. My cousin was the one that gave me the guitar. He wanted to learn but gave up, so he gave it to the only person in the household with any musical abilities. As a woodwinds person, I didn't particularly have any interest...it makes for nice photos though!

Anyway, hope everyone likes the photo!
