A classic bicycle I saw one fine morning in the streets of Kuala Lumpur. It was in immaculate condition for it's age. I particularly love the saddle. Looks like a Brooks, but I can't be sure.

As a side note, this past Sunday, I started off my day by waking up at 3.50am. Why did I wake up at such an insane hour on a weekend?

Here's why.

I'm thankful because I had a chance to go for the Putrajaya 'Health' Ride with my mom & dad. Both of them are close to 60 years old now, and at 50+ something, I think they're both much fitter than I am :)

Flag off was at 7.30am, with around 180-200 cyclists taking part in the event. It started off easy, but as we came close to the 10km mark, it started feeling like I was in hell. Hills, I'm talking about those darn hills! My initial impression and (false) presumption that Putrajaya has a generally flat terrain couldn't be further from the truth. From my Cyclemeter app, I saw that I climbed 288m that day.

In the end, I didn't complete the course. Only managed to do 20km out of 50km due to leg cramps. Haha.

Well, try and try again.

Check out my route and pitiful performance here.

One of the new units passes over the bus station access road en route from Oberbarmen station to the depot.

These two hanging out in the Peoples Square play Beatles nothing but Beatles, They struck a chord with me.

Two journeymen guitarist who have been around long enough to have actually seen the Beatles. The guy in the black shirt, his name is Paolo but he was doing George Harrison proud. The guy in the white shirt, I forgot his name but he had both Paolo McCartney and John Lennon down pat.

No computer process or fill in background music to improve their sound just organic vocals and and acoustic guitars with a little amplification to help fill the square with "Baby You Can Drive My Car" or "Here Comes The Sun."

This picture was taken in Crabbehof / Wielwijk, Dordrecht, the Netherlands. It is one of the 40 official Dutch neighbourhoods in need of redevelopment because of social and fysical problems like crime, low income, abandonment, high unemployment rates, etc... It is hardly a coincidence that Crabbehof / Wielwijk hosts a large number of muslim people who find it hard to adjust to the Western European lifestyle. The muslim women on the picture displays that feeling as she distrustfully looks over her shoulder to see what's happening behind her, in a setting of social housing blocks, garage boxes and poorly designed public space.
