Just a few miles from my home outside Marietta Ohio is this amazing cliff face were a tiny stream dribbling over and through the rock face over countless millennia has formed this impressive cave like recess into the sandstone cliff face. It is an impressive feature but almost impossible to photograph without stitching several photos together. This is a four photo panorama.
Embracing Buddhism, the Japanese use of stone lamps called Ishidoro, originally served to light temples and later marked the grounds of these shrine areas.
A left over shot from the snow we got last month. These are some ducks in the stream in my back yard hoping I've been to the store to get another 50 pound bag of cracked corn.

From a day trip up to Acadia a few weeks back. I will have to revisit Jordan stream sometime and maybe follow it a little bit more off the beaten path to see what else there is to see. Acadia was still in full spring greens as of this trip. It's funny, they are only 3 hours north of me but really almost 2 weeks behind seasonwise. I don't do a whole lot of creek and stream shooting so lots of lessons learned here. I think I will be going out for some more practice over the next few weeks in prep for Colorado and Southwest trips.
I briefly stopped on my walk to capture this small stream running down the side of a hill next to the trail.
ABOUT THIS SERIES
I'd been to Muir Woods several times in my childhood but the last time I was there I can't recall. I was inspired to return after watching the Ken Burns series The National Parks: America's Best Idea on PBS.
Muir Woods, is the nation's sixth national monument but the first that was created from private land (the land was donated by William Kent). The woods are home to Coast Redwood trees (Sequoia sempervirens) which can grow to over 370 feet tall and 26 feet in diameter.
I think Muir Woods is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. If you're ever in the San Francisco Bay Area, I highly encourage you to visit it. You won't be disappointed.
Rephaim Stream Park is a part of The Jerusalem Park and both are part of Judean Mountains National Park.

this little stream is part of bigger lake at yufuin onsen. more better photo at this location coming, it is a very scenic place.
