Pour out the face of fate, let me see it swim
Out of the past, and then deep within
The future that for all, is just a moment away
As the stream of conscientious, flows through another day
Away from the past, into the future as yet unknown
So pour out the face of fate, lets see which way it's blown
The frozen stream was full of patterns, so I tried to find compositions in different areas. These two photos reminded me of abstract charcoal drawings. I didn't convert these to black and white; this was as colorful as it got.

Because Dartmoor essentially consists of impervious granite the water either sits on the surface (hence much of Dartmoor is boggy) or drains off in a series of streams and rivers. This stream is near Merrivale and flows to the south where it joins the River Walkham. It flows through a culvert under the B3357, which is just behind the camera. Several tors can be seen in the distance. Many of the water courses on Dartmoor are man-made and known as leats. One of the largest, dating from the 18th century, was used to bring drinking water to Devonport while others were used to provide water for use in mines and quarries.
Just down the road from Castle Hill along SH73, a glimpse of Cave Stream just in front of the entrance to the cave itself which you can see up ahead. We wanted to go through the cave but wading in chest deep icy water without wetsuit didn't appeal to us. My earlier image of Cave Stream showing the golden colours was taken from the flat rocks looking across but half an hour after this image was taken.
Natures tears, see them fly
Out from the depths of the hidden eye
See them ride the waves and flow
Along the stream, watch them go
Swimming the waters and stones that lie
Deep in the depths of the hidden eye
Long exposure winter water streaming down Tolliver Falls from Swallow Falls State Park, Maryland, USA. Title inspired by the swirling motion of a broken off ice sheet reminding me of abstract wings.

Todays walk took us past this small stream at the bottom of the hill behind our home. We have to keep our dogs on their leads or they would be into it in a flash!
Chicago Creek falls, flows under highway 103 ( Squaw Pass Road ), about 10 miles from Idaho Springs. Another photo of this location that was taken in the spring is also in this gallery
The track of an inchoate stream is unmistakable. Rushing water cuts scallops, dips and meanders as it runs over surface of sandstone. A much larger stream is to the right; they have a confluence lower and to the right. These drain into the canyon created by Keg Spring.

Flying over the Nef Glacier in a door off helicopter the long thin bright blue run-off stream flowing down glacier, caught my eye. Parque National Laguna San Rafael, Aysen, Patagonia, Chile. Just another sign of the melting and retraction of the glaciers.
